Typical Alentejo villas, beautiful and photogenic, with a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with the family. Nice staff, responsive via whatsapp. Large apartments with tv, air conditioner and large kitchen, good decor. Nice central pool, simple spa with indoor pool, we had 2 free entrances for 3 nights, above that there is a 15€ fee. Very good and varied breakfast, home made feel. Special plus: a large attached field with large cork oaks and plenty of nature for a walk. A minus we didn't like: cleanliness, some obvious signs of neglect such as a layer of dust throughout the gym or damp spots in the shower cabin; on one of the days the pool was very dirty in the afternoon, we sent them a message and they replied back saying they would only clean it again in the morning. Read moreWe had a wonderful 2 night stay at Monte do Giestal in mid October 2025 and it was top notch. There is so much attention to detail, from the details before your arrival, upon check in, and throughout the stay. Every woman working there had the utmost friendliness and hospitality, we felt at home.
There are two indoor swimming pools, one has a space to swim, and on the other side of that pool are the hydro massage jets. Then there is also a little kids pool. The water temperature was perfect and my kids loved to swim. The kids loved feeding and watching the donkeys. The space is so calm and quiet. Breakfast is great. We didn't get to complete the loop, but there is a 2km easy walking trail starting from the property.
If you plan to cook in your villa, do plan to bring basic seasonings, like salt, pepper and olive oil. Otherwise the kitchen is fully equipped to make great meals.
Thank you again to the lovely staff and we hope to return again one...

The houses reflect the traditional Alentejo, with small details that together become huge. This is a place to rest and reset.
