Campinir-Campegino||||I was on campings all over the world. But even in Zimbabwe was the camping way better then up here! ||||Hospitality was zero when we wanted to check in. ||It's not the high season yet, so we thought it was normal we got the empty area for ourselves with the motorvan/camper. ||The area was soft and sandy, the people at the reception didn't warn us. So within 5 minutes, when we tried to find a flat place (there wasn't any!) we got stuck in the sand!! And it was at a place near an electricity pole, so it was an official place to stand. ||We couldn't get out ourselves, but there were several tractors up near the reception. One girl got it that we were in problems, because we have an one year old baby. And she had to sleep somewhere! The others ones keep saying "tomorrow at 9". The keys where at the reception of the tractor, but it was too difficult that we could use it (also when I said my husband could drive it himself). Finally after 10 minutes there was a guy who helped us immediately. Thanks to the consistent girl at the reception. ||After that, we saw the field was more of a poop area for all the dogs from the families in the bungalows. Also the next morning there were "spontaneously" some cleaners to clean the wash and bbq area (it was dirty and a mess and there was meat all over the ground with ants on it). ||We even missed the sunset (perfect outlook) because all of this. And nobody checked if we were ok. You also had to go to the reception for asking for open the pole for electricity and also the next morning for opening it again to get away. ||There are also no clear signs to get there. But that's a good thing, so nobody can find this terrible camping. There are two others ones in the area, so...
Read moreThe isolated campsite in wonderful nature is basically nice for visiting the beaches Bicas (textile) and Meco (nude, difficult to get there) and for nothing else. Structures and their capacity are ok. Nice tent ground in a small wood (quite 'special', you have to apply to get a place there). I felt fairly unsafe, when the receptionist placed me at an overcrowded, very ugly tent space without shadow, filled with dozens of pubertal Portuguese youth. You have to know, that there is a general lack of means and additionally an youth unemployment rate up to 50%. I carried values for a 4 weeks international bicycle tour with regular overnight stays. The camp doesn't offer any safe storage facility as is the rule for camp grounds. Instead I wanted to rent a mobile home, what was denied, even there were many empty units in the low season. Insisting my complaint I was guided to the above mentioned more discrete tent ground, which looked like to be reserved to native tourists. The price per night sounded excellent with under 8 Euro. I didn't believe it really. The real bill came on checkout, where I was faced with a penalty of hidden costs which more as doubled the overnight rate! I paid, because even with this cheating the rate compared to the fantastic scenery in which campground is located was very good. The gastronomics outside of the camping area are cheap and trustworthy. So always keep in mind the risk of theft (the day leaving campimeco I encountered it dramatically in another location) and do not accept high side costs / hidden cost for foreign tourists. When you feel you are to be...
Read moreBad idea if you are thinking to go with your family to that camp site with your tent or caravan. The campsite is well localted in a good beach but it's not prepare to welcome caravans and tent for families.
There is only two places for put tent and caravans. One of then haven´t shadows and the other one have sand floor and the only service you will have next to you is rubbish bin. No water surtidor next, washrooms are far away and you will be very, very lucky if there is hot water to have a shower.
Despite huge control on admittance, during nights of friday or saturday you will not sleep. Young people arrives to camping and party starts also at 2 in the night. No vigilance, no control inside de camping. Anyway if you call to recepcion to warn about noise no one will come to help you, its jungle law.
Another awesone thing it's that pine tree are not pruned so a bough call fall from those tall pines. One of then break the bumper...
