A modern cabin in Algarvian nature paradise.

The Amaryllis cabin has everything you need for a perfect stay. It is bright, modern, the bed is very comfortable and has so many amenities. The terrace is basked in sunlight all day, with two(!) hammocks, different comfy chairs to choose from and even an outside shower. At the end of the afternoon, you can enjoy a nice beer or glass of Paxa wine in the sun while enjoying the gorgeous view.

This ‘tiny house’ is secluded from the rest of the cabins, so you will enjoy your privacy here. Even though some of Gato Preto’s cats might visit you, but we found this only added to the experience. You can also enjoy the swimming pool or a little stroll through the beautiful garden, where you will discover brightly colored flowers, pink peppercorn trees, pomegranate and much more.

The owners Matteo and Gloria are a wonderful couple who make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Entrepreneurial as they are they also organize tours for Algarve Food Experience. We took the e-bike culinary tour and the Ria Formosa boat tour which takes you to the different islands around Olhao with also an amazing lunch. This added experience made us discover the Algarve better than we could have organized ourselves, so we would definitely recommend adding this extra to your stay.

Next to the tours there’s a lot to discover nearby, the village of Silves is just lovely. In comparison to most cities in the Algarve you will still find actual Portugese people living here ;-) We really liked visiting Alentejo Com Pao for amazing snacks, sweets, coffee and wine. Also you are a short drive away from the coast, and it is located conveniently right in the center of the Algarve, so more than enough to explore!

A very comfortable place to feel at home … This is not just your average B&B started by amateur people in a midlife crisis…. The young and clever owners are Mateus and Gloria. In a few years they have built here a very smart place. The whole setup is nicely balanced. It’s built on several levels with the accommodations surrounded by well-kept gardens and a wide view of the countryside. All this gives the place a spacious, peaceful feeling with lots of privacy. I stayed 12 nights in the Garden Studio. This was much, much better than the impression I got by the pictures on the website. The bedroom is spacious with a comfortable bed and very quiet (!) air conditioner. The bathroom is luxurious. The kitchenette is well equipped. A very big plus: everything is clean. And last but not least, the huge patio. It’s a shaded place with full privacy to relax and be lazy. And only a few steps away from the nice swimming pool. It is clear that Mateus and Gloria have given very thorough thought about the service they give. Their approach of guests is a well-balanced mix: professional, social, informal, welcoming, unpretentious and respectful. They gave me the feeling of being welcome. The copious breakfast was always tasty with good, real Italian cappuccinos. The weekly dinner turned out to be a surprising gourmet adventure with local and sustainable ingredients.
