Talurdo Retreat — Hotel in Silves

Life in Talurdo, with its charming residents, is an experience worth having. The accommodations are lovingly designed, and the beautiful outdoor spaces and walking paths offer countless spots to relax and unwind. The scent of nature that surrounds you is unique—a fragrance of boundlessness.

My personal favorite was the tree terrace with its boho-style hanging chairs, where I could read in peace. At the Midtown Bar, with a view of the gentle horses—available for riding—the food tastes even better, and you feel wild and free. Sometimes, one of the friendly and open-hearted dogs will stop by for a cuddle before continuing on its way.

Chris and David are always caring and attentive to their guests, ensuring that everyone has exactly what they need. Talurdo is a place where time seems to stand still, inviting you to focus on what truly matters, to pause, and to breathe deeply.

Both sunrise and sunset, accompanied by birdsong, can be admired here, as well as the brilliantly shining stars at night. Pure magic. I felt completely at home.

A Perfect Getaway at Talurdo Retreat

We recently stayed at Talurdo Retreat for two days, and it was truly the best experience we could have asked for exactly what we needed. Chris and David went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel like guests but like family.

The dogs, “Maja” and “The Boss,” were delightful companions, and the horses and ducks added a charming touch to the entire experience.

A special shoutout to Aden, the chef, who prepared the most delicious meals for us. Every dish was a treat!

One of the highlights of our stay was the Finnish sauna, which was absolutely perfect during the chilly evenings.

The volunteers were also incredibly helpful, providing us with directions, hiking recommendations, and insights about the animals.

Beautiful place with very friendly and hospitable hosts. The compound is located in a very calm place in the middle of nature and has a duck pond, natural swimming pond, outdoor kitchen and shade areas with hammocks. The dogs are really sweet. The whole area is beautifully organized and every little detail has been taken care of. We stayed in the circus wagon, which is well decorated and cosy. In the evening the air cools down nicely in these hills so no air-conditioning was needed (even though it is available) and we slept really well. A great place to relax. Highly recommended.
