The Cabra Goat house duplex is well equipped with a kettle, expresso maker for stove and a coffee plunger, herbal and regular teas, kitchen stove, oven, microwave and fridge, nice hot shower, large towels, living room with cable TV, and is a very comfortable one bedroom flat with heaters, fan and a fireplace inside. There are also large outdoor areas, a common patio with BBQ, pool and wifi (no wash machine in our unit but believe there is one in the larger house). The attached duplex is called Vaca /Cow Villa and similar in size to the Cabra / Goat Villa. There is also a ti-pi (tee pee) and a treehouse for more adventurous accommodation on the grounds, and another larger separate house. Manuela the owner is wonderful, and a wealth of information, she even gave us a bottle of wine. The two goats are friendly too - the larger one will stand all day near the fence so you can pat him. The veggie garden is available too for those who want to cook. The property is about 7-8 kilometres out of Porto, on the Cabeça da Cabra road, in the rural district of the same name. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this wonderful villa on this welcoming acreage with its...
Read moreI really want to give a balanced review so here goes: the wifi wasn’t working despite the host’s best efforts, once we were in the house, all internet reception is cut off, and it took reallyyyyy long for warm water to start coming out of the shower after we switched it on.
But…our experience was absolutely delightful! The host, Manuela, is so warm and responsive, it was fun to chat with her about so many things! She gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations too. She’s so chill, there’s no booking after ours so she told us we could check out anytime!
Houses were well equipped with everything we needed to cook, although the kettle looked really old and I didn’t dare to use it. But it’s okay, we went there not to cook, but to really relax. And that’s why no wifi was such a blessing.
Lots of citrus trees in the compound and we were invited to pick and eat anything we wanted. Loved the resident cat and her kittens, awwww, plus goats, a dog, a donkey, a few guinea pigs, mandarin ducks, etc. at night, the sky is dark enough for stargazing. It’s the retreat I never...

Perfect for a quick escape or longer vacations, as they provide all the amenities you might need. The houses are equipped with full kitchens, and they also have different types of villas adequate to your needs. For those who want to connect more with nature, they even have a Tipi tent and a wooden cabin. The breakfast offer is an entire range of local products of outstanding quality, and the details here are even prettier.
