Amazing hotel with endless views of the Douro in every direction. Very small hotel with lots of areas to relax and enjoy the views, especially from the infinity pool. Not crowded (only 10 rooms). Amazing staff. Personalized service. Vineyards are available to walk through. Wine tastings and drinks available. Indoor parking garage. Room was great, strong air conditioning, nice bathroom with heated floor, and beautiful view from our patio. Very peaceful. Great breakfast with more views. We had dinner here both nights we stayed which were great. It is price fixed 3 courses with two options available for each course. *Menu changes daily (unlike what was stated in a different review). Extensive wine list including their wines and wines from other wineries, all very reasonably priced. We opted to have staff pick our wine to pair with each course. They also have a few snacks and things you could order for lunch but we didnt try luch. Wine shop on-site, but it was closed in the mornings when we wanted to shop. Reception probably would have opened it if we asked. Everyone spoke English which was helpful. We considered other quintas to stay at closer to Pinhao, but visited one for lunch and found that Quinta do Pego was definitely the right choice. We will...

Lovely small hotel (only 10 rooms) in a fabulous location, overlooking the Douro. Very comfortable rooms with plenty of space and good showers. We were able to go out of our room directly to the infinity pool, with again the same wonderful views. The breakfast is included in the room price and was very good. They serve dinner but you have to pre-book and choose your dishes by 18.00. The food was to a good standard and we ate outside which we liked. They say the menu changes daily but we didn't see that and so ate out the other nights of our stay. We particularly liked the outside areas where the gardens had been divided into small "rooms" with easy chairs and tables and where you could order drinks. There is a shop selling the estate's wine and port and we went to an interesting tasting where the intricacies of port were explained to us. All in all, a very enjoyable stay in a rather more luxurious setting than we had envisaged. Fully recommended. By the way, if you are arriving by car, don't be put off by the steep, narrow driveway. You do get used to it by about...

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing few days. The room was well appointed and with a wonderful view. The pool was excellent (large, clean and also benefiting from that fantastic view). Our dinner experience was special each evening; the food was good and the staff made it an occasion. The only disappointment was a low key welcome on the first day - we were given little more than a room key. We had to work quite hard to get information about what was on offer - either in the hotel or in the local area.||Tip for guests without cars - be wary of taxis. Either agree a price or check the meter is running. We used taxis for 6 trips. For 4 trips the fare was reasonable but for the other 2 the price was almost double what it should have been (and what the hotel reception estimated). We were given various excuses by the hotel but they really should be able to secure a reasonably reliable taxi price for their most popular local...

We stayed at Hotel Rural Quinta do Pégo 4 nights and for the first time in our vacations didn't want to leave our hotel / Quinta - it was so beautiful and peaceful. The begin with, the view is spectacular. The river, vineyards, clouds in the sky, the sound of birds: heaven. The Quinta is very clean, with comfortable accommodation. The staff is very kind, always smiling and eager to assists or give a good advice. Breakfast is tasty and the location is very good for daily tours in the Douro Valley. We are happy to recommend on staying in Quinta do Pégo, you most certainly will come back.
