Well we are still here at the site, but while i have my last night here its worth taking the time writing this review and what a fantastic trip we have had, but staying at the Ermida campsite has truly been the highlight of our stay and we honestly dont want to leave. Carlos, Cinda and Anna are wonderful wonderful hosts, with a campsite location that beats all others. They are passionate about their beautiful little village and provided with us fantastic insight to the surrounding area as well as supporting us throughout our stay here, even when i was a little unwell. Thank you for my tea Cinda and Anna❤!!! This really is a beautiful place to stay; quaint, all the amenities you need onsite, a car service down to the riverside whenever you need, a view to die for, plenty of room for all tents and caravans, very cute little huts and cabins if you choose, a lovely little bar, very good pizza and pasta, people from all over the world here visiting the local AMAZING waterfalls that are all easy access fron the campsite within 30 minutes to one hour depending on how far you want to trek. We will DEFINITELY be back again to visit what feels like a family away from home - thank you so much for having us in your beautiful mountain-side camping grounds - its been a pleasure. Cant wait to visit...
Read moreDespite have a great location and decent bar, the camp site has a lot of issues with accessability and services. To start with, the camp site is split into 3 areas, the lower/ entry level is reserved for RVs and the upper level has a tent area and fixed lodging facilities. The tent area is superrrr crowded and doesnt look like there is any limit to the number of tents (we could hear lots of "noises" from neighbouring tents). There is NO WC or shower facilities in the upper levels and its a big pain to walk down steep steps to access the WC in the lower level (especially horrible if you have small kids). Even worse than that, the toilet stalls have no toilet paper! there is a single roll at the entrance which runs out fairly quickly and the staff take their time to replace it... Beware if you have an EV, even if you pay for electricity connection which is of very poor voltage, the owner will demand you to pay extra for charging your EV (not mentioned anywhere) and the cost is more expensive than using a supercharger!. Also, the main gate is closed at 11pm so no cars can get in after that until its reopened at 0730ish. Although there is some logic to this, wonder what happens if there is an emergency and there is nothing nearby.. not sure what the fire department would...
Read moreNot suitable for Brazilians. The staff received us unpolitely from the beginning saying that at 22h30 they had a 0 noise politics. It happened that at 22h30 I asked politely for a group that was standing right behind my cabin if it was possible to keep it down a bit so I could rest, they not only didn't but treated me bad. In the next day I was with my friends getting ready to checkout and the receptionist man staff came to me in front of everybody not even saying hi but already saying that I was disrespectful with the group that they had right to make noise, that if I wanted to rest that was not the accommodation that they were not a hotel and that if he met me in the day before at night he would kick me off the accommodation. In all my travels around the world I never been treated like that. It was obvious to see that they treat brazilians different (in a bad way) of portuguese people. Never saw a staff so unprofessional, unprepared and offensive, that treat people different according to their...
