I volunteered from 15th of July to 14th of August. I left at 4.30am, in darkness, on the 2nd of August having reached a point where I no longer felt safe.
His kids are being used to market the site without consent. If you look at the marketing for Naturviana you will notice the inclusion of children in the photos. They are on Instagram, the website and were also included in a recent two page write up in the local newspaper. Those kids are Adriano’s, but they are with his mother and ex-partner. He claims they were stolen, the reasoning as to why was conspicuously never given. He does not have the consent of the children, nor their mother to use their image to market Naturviana as a family friendly naturist destination. It’s catfishing, but so much worse.
In my opinion he is a toxic narcissist who uses people, including children to regulate his wildly dis regulated emotions. “Are you happy?” He asks ad nauseum, unwilling to accept any answer other than yes.
The entire site is a fire danger. The site is littered with piles of dry leaves 3 feet high and 10 feet long. The site is extremely dangerous from a fire safety stand point. Considering the number of fires in Portugal right now, this is absolutely urgent. He also lights an open campfire every night.
I was there when the altercation with the French occurred. Their behaviour was not something I can support, but Adriano’s behaviour was far more escalatory and toxic. Adriano parked his van blocking the gate and locked everyone inside the site over night. I could hear him yelling from the other side of the property. Later he said that it was his girlfriend, Natali, that was yelling. I couldn’t hear her, but when she passed me on the way to them she said they would hear her “Latino fire”. I later found out Adriano threatened to slash the French couple’s tyres. The feedback I received from other guests was the French couple were in the wrong, but Adriano’s escalation and unwillingness to compromise made the situation far worse. ‘Evil begets evil’ was a phrase used. They took 500 euro from them. I know this because Adriano wanted me to launder it through Revolut for him. I pay him on Revolut, he pays me cash. I wiggled out of that thankfully. The next day the two of them were giddie, “who cares about reviews”. 24 hrs later, once the dopamine wore off, their mood was toxic.
Adriano is toxic and Natali is enabling him.
On the evening of the 31st, having driven me to over work due to their need to take out their toxic stress. I walked up to the upper area above the dining area/ kitchen to get my iPad that was on charge. This area is used by everyone including guests, it is completely open. Adriano had unplugged my iPad and setup his computer to have a business video call. He was half naked with his back to me, blocking my view of the screen. Adriano had not told me, he says he told “everyone”. I had been under the pizza oven for an hour stacking wood, he forgot I was there. By the time I realised, I had already walked past the call naked. Adriano did not have my consent, he did not warn me and the location of the call was 100% inappropriate. He and Natali both blame me, neither have apologised.
At this point I realised I wasn’t safe, spent a very nervous day plotting my escape and left in the middle of the night. Adriano still owes me 300 euro and is refusing to pay it back because he believes he is the one who is the victim. I gave him the option of paying me back or I post this. He claims blackmail, a half truth. He also approached my parents, also toxic narcissists. I’m not sure why he thought that was a good idea, but he was stupid enough to type it all out and...

Read moreI have stayed at NaturViana many times over several years and seen it grow into the lush relaxing enjoyable naturist haven it is now, and is continuing to develop. This has been achieved by the ongoing hard work and skills of owner Adriano, assissistant Nati and sometimes volunteers who come to stay and help develop this paradise in the hills overlooking the city of Viana in the north of Portugal. As a visitor this is a place to relax and be as active or involved as you like, you can stay in your own tent, campervan, caravan or rent an onsite tent or one of the glamping structures onsite, whatever your budget and circumstance allows. During the day you can swim and relax around the eco pool, join in any spontaneous activities, explore and sunbake (no tan lines) in the many nooks at the site or if available go on one of Adriano's adventure tours of the local area or explore for yourself. In the evening you can join in a communal meal watching the sunset and later sit around the campfire and enjoy spontaneous entertainment. I have had an enjoyable time every visit to this little Paradise and I am sure you will as...
