I rolled up at this hotel in the evening, that was easy, a car park right in front of the Hotel with plenty of room and no tedious manoeuvring. Glass doors and front desk to the left, no mistaking it. The gentleman that booked me in was smart, polite and friendly. His general character reminded me of a time gone by, the fifties manifesting into the early eighties, a familiarity, one of acceptance and of facilitating business. I didn't feel awkward at all, when travelling alone to a new place this is a common feeling for me. ||The rooms and decor and art were dated, eighties. This was a good thing, I resonate on retro-chic as its now been branded, it inspired me to look up Portugal's economic situation of the time and true to form the eighties was a period where economic failure and debt kicked in.||The hotel was clean though, and the furniture good quality and accommodating, linen white cotton and crisp. ||When i arrived back late in the evening the same gentleman on the desk opened the bar for me, poured a generous bourbon and when I asked him for peanuts or crisps he filled up a large bowl with nuts, complimentary.||In the morning the breakfast buffet was still being served until 10:30 am. Another man came and showed me how to operate the fresh coffee machine and generally made me feel welcome to help myself. ||The time I booked in, Id asked if they had a Plug convertor from English to Portuguese, they had and when I brought it back broken the following morning the gentleman on the desk pacified the situation by saying these things are not well made, no worries. ||The location is easy to find from the centre of town and Wifi was available. The views from the window weren't to write a review about but that wasn't a deal breaker as the part of town I was staying in was far from picturesque. Under £50.00. For the price you pay ( under fifty pounds is currently my limit ) this kind of experience is greatly appreciated. May it stay in business for a long time yet. And heed this Latin parable I made up today "Nam passio est enim...

Renovated hotel with friendly and prompt service, free parking, free breakfast (no eggs and sausages but enough selection of other food for breakfast).Staff was very helpful.
