Herdade da Urgueira — Hotel in Vila Velha de Ródão

We're a couple with a nine year old son that stayed for one night in November.||||"Herdade da Urgueira" is a very pleasant hotel. Located in the middle of nature, close to a small water dam, that focus their activity in the tradition of the region olive farms. It has its own restaurant, where you can try the local cuisine with the focus on the region's olive oil. The decoration of the hotel is based on this history and tradition. The hotel opened in June 2015, so it's still pretty new, and in fact you can notice that, either in the surroundings or in the staff.||The location of the hotel is in the middle of nature, so you can't access anywhere without a car. By car there are plenty of places worth a visit, either in the river Tagus nature reserve, or the surrounding villages. All this information will be nicely provided by the hotel staff.||The apartment where we stayed was a double room with kitchenette. It's spacious, clean and comfortable. The rooms are very pleasant with nice decoration. The climatization system worked very well, and it's clearly needed to fight the cold of the November nights. However we missed a good blanket to use inside the room, at least to make it a little more cozy.||The breakfast was very good. Fresh bakery, ham, cheese, jams, eggs, sausages; so plenty to choose from.||The Wi-Fi is free, but you can't access it in the all apartment.||The restaurant is definitely worth it. The food is very well cooked, and it is well presented.||The staff, in the hotel and in the restaurant, are all very friendly. Always available to help you in anyway possible.||Didn't tried for anymore amenities, including the pool, but if it wasn't a Autumn stay we'd definitely go for a dip, since it had an amazing appeal.||||This was a very short stay, but it sure...

Room with shared entrance small and very basic. We booked as thought all room have this door to the terrace. When we arrived were showned our room. Turns out you share those entrance in some rooms. We were showned room 9B. The room 9A was open we thought as the same entrance it's all part of the room. Later on the receptionist come to tell us it's only 1 room. Instead of asking to remove things he simply drop all by our door. Which it's extremely rude. So wallet pants etc all on the floor. Really poor attention of care. When you put in consideration it's only 1 room they are really small, on ours lights bulbs in the bathroom 3 didn't work, shower it's really basic with rust in the bottom and bin with rust too. So it's two rooms with 1 set of table outside the room. How does that work if you both want to seat there. The view it's to a marquise not that great. Televisions channels only the Portuguese 7 basic. Breakfast starts at 9 but wasn't ready. It's a really basic breakfast. In fact the basic we had since a trip to India and we travel a lot. As our details says check out at 11 but the room says 12. I ask the receptionist which one was it and he said 11. Then I mention the rooms got a sign saying 12. Which he look at me like I was lying to I said it's in the room. So he said you can stay like was doing me a favour. After this we decided to leave. Enough was enough. Customer service the worst I ever encounter in a hotel. Your car will get very dirty with birds on the tree . Room it's very basic for what you pay. Ibis rooms are better and it's a budget hotel. Restaurant food and service was good. Surrounding ares too even though pool cleaning machine never removed. But you go to a hotel for a treat and not putting up with poor...

A Herdade da Urgueira contempla um espaço fantástico, digno de visita.|No entanto, a experiência foi agridoce.|Muito positiva pelo espaço em si, mas neutra (usar “negativa” não seria justo), pois falham em pormenores de baixo custo, mas que trariam um enorme benefício para a qualidade global deste projeto turístico.||Pontos positivos:|- Sem dúvida, a paisagem deslumbrante e a possibilidade de andar de gaivota ou pequeno barco, sem custos adicionais (a Herdade fornece os coletes para o efeito);|- A piscina fez as delícias de todos, assim como o jardim bem cuidado;|- Apesar da piscina estar junto ao restaurante, a privacidade é relativamente bem assegurada com cortinas e biombos;|- Zona tranquila, com uma ligação fantástica à natureza;|- Duche sempre com água quente e boa pressão;|- Frigorífico no quarto;|- Ar condicionado irrepreensível;||Pontos negativos:|- Por parte de algum staff, sentimos um acolhimento pouco caloroso.|Pelo contrário, passámos as férias a tentar decifrar se o semblante mais fechado fazia parte da personalidade daquelas pessoas ou se, de facto, não havia motivação no trabalho que desempenhavam;|- As piscinas, apesar da água estar muito limpa, perdem pela falta de manutenção em algumas grelhas (partidas e perigosas);|- O pequeno-almoço é completo, mas faltou frescura nos principais produtos. O pão, os croissants e alguma pastelaria nunca foram frescos, exceto no último dia. Um pormenor barato de resolver e que pode fazer toda a diferença na experiência;|- A TV, de vez em quando, deixava de funcionar, mas desligar e voltar a ligar resolvia sempre. Poucos canais disponíveis, mas nada de grave (vivemos bem com o essencial);|- O Wi-Fi funciona bem, mas sempre que desligávamos ou voltávamos ao quarto, era necessário voltar a confirmar o acesso (não ligava automaticamente);||Notas finais:|Começámos as férias com vontade de ir logo embora, nervosos e chateados devido a um pedido que fizemos na reserva mas que parece que não foi comunicado entre o staff, acabando por gerar uma pequena fricção no momento do check-in.|Mas demos uma oportunidade, tudo acabou resolvido, e os últimos dias acabaram por ser os mais equilibrados e positivos de toda a experiência.||Ao ler os comentários de outros hóspedes, confirmámos que existe um problema de falta de empatia neste espaço. Por um lado, colaboradores absolutamente apáticos; por outro, alguns muito simpáticos mas, ainda assim, com uma muralha de gelo gigante que se sente sempre presente.||Em contrapartida, cruzámo-nos apenas uma vez com uma senhora da limpeza, já de idade, que foi super querida e carinhosa. Foi uma verdadeira lufada de ar fresco, um “anjo” que nos fez sentir genuinamente bem-vindos naquela propriedade.||Quanto ao restaurante, não sentimos curiosidade em experimentar, pelo que não temos opinião. Apenas notámos que era relativamente frequentado por público externo, algumas vezes bastante ruidoso.||Repetíamos a experiência? |Talvez.|Não é um lugar que descartamos por completo, até porque sentimos que, com pequenos ajustes, poderia facilmente subir de “agradável” a “excelente”. No entanto, também não é daqueles sítios para onde voltamos de olhos fechados e cheios de entusiasmo.||Se a hospitalidade se aproximasse mais daquela genuinidade calorosa que o Alentejo sabe oferecer, e se houvesse mais cuidado com a manutenção e frescura nos detalhes, aí sim, diríamos um claro “sim, sem dúvida”.||Ainda assim, um dia havemos de voltar.|Obrigado à Herdade da Urgueira e a todo o staff.|Desejamos que este comentário possa contribuir de forma construtiva para melhorar a experiência de...
