Review is just for the restaurant. I would describe it as a "efficient but soulless food factory".
The dishes were mediocre, but they came fast. The chicken soup was full of clumped up thin noodles, had 3 small cubes of chicken and tasted of Delikat (that chemical spice mix). The oven crepes had barely any cheese, was way too sweet, the weight was definitely a lot under 400g and was not baked (they fake it by placing the crepe and the sauce in a hot ramekin, this way it looks like it's baked, but can be made way faster). In general, nothing is decorated in any way, feels made by a machine, purely practical (you ask for honey walnut crepes, you get only exactly that, just the ingredients quickly thrown together).
I have nothing against them, but the foreign waiters are clueless, they have no idea who got what, at what table to drop the food (they circle around the room until they find one of the romanian waiters to guide them). I have a theory that the cook is foreign, hence why they have no idea how authentic traditional romanian food is supposed to be. Instead, it feels like they're following recipes and they don't care how it...
Read moreThe hotel looks lovely from the outside, the room was spacious and well appointed. The American diner is very nicely designed and the restaurant looks good too. The receptionist was really lovely and showed us a room with jacuzzi, that we decided to take. It was very expensive compared to the other Motels down the road, but we thought it will be worth it to relax in the jacuzzi bathtub. The water that came out of the water jets was extremely filthy, so we didn't use it at the end. The room looked a bit fired and outdated at a closer look, there was a musty cigarette smell coming from the corridor. The food in the main restaurant was not so tasty but edible. Breakfast was buffet style and was not included in the room rent. I also found this quite expensive for what it was. Overall is quite expensive for what it is, would stay here again if it would be cheaper or after a major refurbishment that would...
Read moreThis place is a mandatory stop whenever I pass in the area because the traditional food that you can eat at this restaurant literally warms your soul. The atmosphere is nice, it's located near Sibiu city but it's surrounded by forest, it's easy to access it because it's on a main road and the parking is more than enough. There is also another part where they serve burgers but I haven't tried it so I can't comment on it,nor can I say anything about it as a hotel since I've never stayed overnight. The prices are a bit higher than the average for restaurants in RO but the food you get is well worth it. Same goes for the drinks. They have something called trandafirata which is made from rose syrup, absolutely delicious. Waiting times are probably the only weak point of this place since it's almost always busy, especially during...
