Hotel EDMA — Hotel in Alexandria

Hotel is new and so far well maintained. Spacious rooms with very nice balconies. Bathroom very bright and with all amenities. USB ports next to a bed, which is nice. Breakfast - below average, quite a few things but presentation isn't the best, eggs are cold, bacon is not really bacon and breakfast staff is hit and miss. Nice restaurant downstairs. Free parking in front of hotel. Excellent Internet connectivity, fast and stable. Location - it's far from everything. At least 20 mins walking to the centre. Some things which are there are not thought through, e.g. there is a kettle, but it's too large so it will not fit under the sink, you need to use cup to fill it. The electronic clock in the room resets every time you go out, so it's a bit pointless. Our door had a gap of 5 mm, we could clearly see the corridor. Lovely hotel with good, clean rooms, however the pillows on the bed are cheap, uncomfortable and lack substance which I feel ruins the quality feel of the hotel. The rooms generally are light, well presented and a welcome home from home. ||The only other problem that I have had with this hotel is the service in the restaurant isn’t always great. My last trip was a good experience, but previously I have been told that I am unable to sit at available tables to eat and must instead sit at the sofa, I have also been told that I can’t order room service unless I call a mobile number that didn’t answer. A really nice surprise for Alexandria. A very good hotel, with pretty good service, good food, but with employees that don't respect the pandemic- related laws and regulations.

We stayed in a premium room which had a great view over the city, and a nice balcony to admire that view from.

The location of the hotel is not ideal though, being located at the outskirts of the city, which might be a bit far for waking to the center of the city.

The breakfast was pretty good and the hotel restaurant was OK compared to other restaurants in the city.

Also, as a less desirable aspect, worth mentioning that although in a pandemic, no one at the hotel was using a mask, as required by law, not even below-the-chin-totally-useless...
