Disastrous Stay – Do Not Recommend!
We were on after a long drive and needed a place to rest for the night to continue the journey next day. We booked a room a few weeks in advance. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very loud music from a wedding on the ground floor. (I believe, they should have notified us in advance about this…) To avoid the noise, we were given a room on the 3rd floor. Unfortunately, the room was unbearably hot due to the daytime temperature reaching 40°C. The air conditioning system was super old and ineffective, making it impossible to sleep in such conditions. The furniture in the room was quite old too.
We requested a better room and were offered a LUX room by a friendly staff member who seemed eager to help. He asked for additional payment in cash to cover the upgrade. Shortly after, another receptionist informed us that they couldn’t accept cash since the reservation was made and paid for in advance. The lady was kind enough and offered the upgraded room without additional payment due to the unacceptable conditions of the initial room. However, the male staff member refused to return the money, displaying a very unprofessional attitude… In the rest of the world people are offered free upgrades when the conditions in the initial room are not acceptable!
On the positive note - the LUX room: it was recently renovated, looked amazing, and had a functioning air conditioner. Loved it here. The location of the hotel is also very convenient. If the rest of the hotel is renovated to this standard, it might eventually live up to its name, President. At least AC should be better in each room.
Overall, the poor initial experience and dishonest behavior of the staff overshadowed the positives. I do not recommend staying here. I give 5 starts to LUX, location and the lady from the reception, for the...
Read moreI don't usually write 1 point ratings but i feel people should be warned about this hotel. The sewer smell that i found în my room is still haunting me.. I found the staff to be kind and helpful. And that's the only thing i liked about this hotel. I stayed here in february for one night. I had a room situated on the second floor. The hotel has no elevator. The room smelled as a sewer. Litteraly i felt sick to the stomach when i entered the room. The smell is horrible. The halls smell like some kind of cooked food (from the restaurant kitchen). The room was small. I think my balcony was bigger than my room (you can see the pictures atached). I had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. I have waited for 20 minutes for someone to take my order and another 30 for a plate of "tortelinni carbonara". My pasta had s-o much basilic that if I spitted i would have spitted holly water. The shower is horrible (see the pictures atached). I'm talking about a shower cap on a stick. No cabin. I took a shower and i practically flooded the bathroom.. But the sewer smell.. OMG.. I feel traumatised. I found towels stained with some blue stuff.. The bathroom filter was horrible. The heating system is old and breaks apart. The flat tv is quite good but the channel reception is poor. All in all, i am sure not to come here...
Read moreNoisy AC, no balcony but people can pass by your window on first floor big outdoor hallway, need to keep your curtains shut, no hot water but warm, breakfast coffee machine has plenty of options but whatever you press you get only americano, the price for dog stay is 1/4 of room price/night which seems outrageous, oldish aspect and setting, downstairs toilet smelly and neglected, carpets stained and overall cleanliness would rate a 6. Now +++ : very close to highway, ~30 from Hungary border, nice parking space, staff ok, free WiFi, in case helps disabled...
