First off, I want to say that I'm sorry about the review because it's pretty obvious that this is the source of income of a whole family. However, I feel that they need to improve because otherwise that business will fill out the bankruptcy papers at some point in time.||The property looked good from afar and when getting closer, the sensation remains. Another story begins afterwards. ||There was no indication of where the reception was. I spent 10 minutes looking for the correct place coming back and forth from one building to the other. While looking through the windows searching for the reception, I realized they were infested with bugs. I arrived past-midnight and there was nobody to receive me. I was with some friends who are Romanian, and they helped me to call the property. The guy on the phone replied in a bad mood and told us that they just kept my room opened with the keys in the lock. It's worth to mention that this was the final answer, in the middle, we had to call them like twice or thrice and he told us to look for a guy and to knock on some doors. Really? Knock on doors? Possibly bothering other guests? ||Coming back to the story....they left the room opened! Way to go for a place full of insects (I added some pics, unfortunately I didn't have too much battery for more). The halls of the house where the rooms are located were also with bugs and spiders, and my room was in the second floor at the end of the hall. I swear, I have a friend living in Yucatan Peninsula and his house has zero bugs, neither inside nor on the external walls. And I'm talking about a private property in tropical place in the jungle. Having bugs in a touristic non-tropical place like Popasul Jalesul, is just unacceptable.||When going upstairs, I almost hit my head with the roof of the first floor, because they are extremely bad designed and not very high. I'm 1.65 and this happened to me, I can imagine anybody taller will hit their head for sure. ||OK, now the room: It had a bad odor, like sweat or something similar. And...windows opened too, more bugs and bugs on the wall already killed (pic) and insects inside the lamp (pic). The door didn't close unless you lock it with the key. The sofa and the couch were dusty, and the lavatory/sink was dirty and wet as if it was recently used (pic included). ||About the bed, I'm 99% sure that they just made the bed, but the sheets were not cleaned before because of the odor they had. The mattress was thin and uncomfortable. My friends had decided to go camping and I picked a hotel because I needed to use Wi-Fi and my computer due to my job. I guess that sleeping in a tent as my friends did was much more comfortable than that bed. Anyway, I was so tired I somehow managed to sleep.||Next morn the experience of the shower. I usually take a shower in the night and in the morning, but again, I was so tired that I skipped my nightly shower. Good decision because that shower was as the rest, awful. Three mini soaps and no shampoos. The doors of the shower didn't close properly and when trying to check the water temperature, obviously all the water splashed everywhere in the bathroom. The faucet had the temperatures switched, no big deal, you just have to figure it out, but the hot water took forever to arrive. Finally, when I was already in the shower, we got a black out and the water was gone. Anyway, everything was reestablished after 3 minutes or so. The towels had a "funny" smell.||I don't remember if it was before or after the shower, but the lady who I guess is the spouse of the owner was shouting "Daniel, Daniel" IN the halls of the house where the rooms are, in a Saturday morning. Great way to take care of your guests, huh? I was already awake, but this will never be correct. Things got worse when she desperately knocked on my door, I didn't want to answer but she kept insisting. At the end I opened the door and she asked me whether Daniel was there or not. So, this means that from time to time Daniel sleeps with guests? I mean, in the same room while there are guests there. Daniel, if you read this and understand it, man, that is not correct.||After all this mini adventure, I went downstairs to look for the reception, which again, couldn't be found anywhere. Suddenly I was stopped by whom I think was the owner and somehow, I could check in. He barely spoke English (not that I'm a native, you can see I have mistakes, but hey, at least you can understand me). I know this is deep in the countryside of Romania, but, come on, this is a touristic place, English is a must in a touristic business. When the guy told me the price, he did not respect Booking.com price, after I showed him my reservation and the price on the app, he accepted the amount shown, but not 100% comfortable with it. It was that bad for him that the property was immediately taken down from Booking. Just a great example of business management.||Additional note: Where I had the check in, I saw who the famous Daniel was. Daniel was just a teenager! ||I asked for the Wi-Fi password and I got it, but with the warning that it did not work pretty well. The internet in Romania is fantastic, yet, the only place in the country where it is not is Popasul Jalesul. The girl who helped me with that, told me it would only work in the garden, not in the rooms. I couldn't believe, but it was true. It barely worked in the garden, and not even by chance it worked in my room.||Minutes later, my friends arrived to take breakfast and it disappointed. I expected something delicious. Food usually is great in any small village in the countryside anywhere in the world. It was nothing special, but neither bad, except for the salami. We specifically said, no salami, yet, we got it. Again, no big deal and you might even say, "OK, why didn't you just leave it?" but the thing is that it looked like it was bitten. Yes, bitten. And the salami from one of the girls of the group was missing some part of it. This made me doubt about the whole meal. I decided to give my salami to the dogs there and not even them wanted it, but one of the three or four dogs the property had at the time. Suspicious meat.||All of this happened from Friday night to Saturday morning. Saturday night when I came back, I expected to find my room clean and no, they did not touch anything. They do not clean them every day. I just can't understand it. But fool of me who thought this would happen. Sunday morning, I realized that none of the guys who work there or are the owners, or whatever role they had, changed clothes, except for Wi-Fi girl. Look, I don't want to sound pretentious, but if you are serving people, cleanliness is key. I mean, the weather was unbearable in Europe during those days (28 C in the shadow), I'm sure they sweated, yet, none of them change clothes from one day to the other. Why did I expect they would clean my room if they didn't clean themselves? Again, fool of me.||So, this all summarizes in bugs and spiders everywhere, bad service and even worse cleanliness. I went to the area to climb, two days. I saw less insects and spiders in the rocks than what I saw in this place. My friends camping with light luggage had more clothes changed than those working in a touristic place. Cleanliness is not a word they know here but they stand out for being one of the few places in Romania where the...
Read moreJalesul = jale.
