I do not recommend anyone to go there now!!!! The hotel is located in a very picturesque place, the hotel building is also quite beautiful. The rooms are of average quality and quite worn and old. We paid for the room in advance, and when we got to the hotel, it turned out that there were construction/landscape works going on around it with the use of heavy and very loud techniques (excavators, dump trucks). The work stopped around 8 p.m. and resumed at 8 a.m. (Saturday!!), waking us up. A dump truck with a loud diesel engine was humming right under our balcony, and as if that wasn't enough, it was also honking, excavators were loading ground into dump trucks, banging loudly on them with their buckets. It's just a horror that's hard to describe, not a quiet rest! I do not recommend anyone to...

One of the few places to spend the night at on the most beautiful road in Romania, the amazing Transfagarasan. Location is magical, with spectacular views of Capra Waterfall (which is constantly singing), the mountains and forest. It is also located on the more quiet side of Transfagarasan, 15 minutes away from Balea lake, the more crowded and touristy area. It is usually fully booked, and perfect for families (playground available), so it's not entirely peaceful, but it is better than the Balea lake cabanas in this sense. If it's fully booked on Booking.com, try and call the hotel, they may have other available rooms. Breakfast included in the price, from 8 to 10:30.

Cleaning may be improved and regarding the restaurant, it is quite pricey for the quality of the food (17 lei for a...

We had lunch at Hotel Capra's restaurant (21/08). I'm giving the place five stars not only for the great traditional dishes but especially for the YOUNG MAN who took care of us. I forgot to note the man's name, but he's the BEST WAITER I have seen in a long time. He was friendly, smiling, respectful and he really seemed to be enjoying his job. He gave useful information concerning the Romanian food and even proposed to pay for our meal in case the lack of wifi in the mountains would make a payment by card impossible. He trusted us to wire him the money later. In the end the payment went through without a problem. Our 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ waiter deserves a round of...

The location of the hotel is amazing, the staff were nice. We stopped and we tried the soups: ciorba de perisoare, ciorba de burta si ciorba de vacuta. All of them it felt they were not fresh. The meat from ciorba de perisoare had a strange color. I received some advice from a family, on our stopped, that the food is not good here. We didn’t listen and we tried by ourselves. I could say, that my soup cooked and keep one week in the fridge is fresher the one i had it there. I do not recommend eat it there. Stopping for a coffee or beer is a good idea, but not the food.
