Pensiunea Valea Gepișului — Hotel in Aușeu

I spent 8 nights at Pensiunea Valea Gepisului, with my girlfriend and another friend. Below there is a brief description of our experience:

The good stuff: Within a 1 hour car drive radius there are a lot of caves, hikes, castles, villages, and all sorts of other attractions. The people serving in the restaurant were young, nice and respectful. One of them was especially friendly and gave us tips about beautiful places to visit in the area. The restaurant is designed with good taste and so are the rooms. The people there are working hard to create and maintain a beautiful place. We had a great time dipping in the hot water of the ciubar for a couple of evenings. The food was tasty and offered in generous portions. Some of the menu items seemed high quality, like some special traditional salami. We enjoyed playing billiard and ping pong.

The not so good stuff: The price we paid seemed too high for what we found there. The entrance doors to the rooms were plastic with glass. We had ants in the bathroom and in the room. In one room the bathroom did not have venting and the wifi was very bad. We were told that we are not allowed with food from outside of that place. There was a constructiom site 10 meters from our window and they were excavating there a part of the cliff and also building a house. It was noisy and unpleasant. The old man in charge had some youngsters staying for some days, some relatives I believe. They were very noisy for a good part of the night. Also this man in charge asked whether one of them can sleep in the hallway between our rooms. This seemed not so professional. When we complained he moved the youngsters to another house. The menu is very limited and almost no option for vegetarians or vegans. If you stay 8 nights you will get bored of it even if you eat meat, because of the very few options. When we suggested to the old man in charge that adding some vegetarian options would be nice he didn't take it very well. We started to argue. The pictures from booking.com were not very representative and a lot of the place was a construction site with workers...

⚠️ Disappointing stay at Valea Gepișului Guesthouse (June 6–9, 2025)||We stayed here as a group of about 40 people (adults and children) for 3 nights. Unfortunately, the services provided were far below expectations.||||– Despite having a pre-set meal plan, we had to wait over an hour for every meal. Surprisingly, walk-in restaurant guests were served faster than our group, although we were paying guests staying on-site.||– The kitchen seems too small to handle the restaurant’s full capacity.||– Only two waiters per shift, likely underaged and inexperienced, which led to frequent mistakes and delays.||||– At checkout, we were charged for:||||a rusty metal chair from the terrace (already damaged)||||a rotten wooden spoon from the sauna||||a small chipped piece of travertine near the pool (caused accidentally by a child)||||– We were also charged for spring water served as if it were bottled still water.||– The owner reacted aggressively to any questions or feedback, raising his voice instead of offering solutions.||||– On the last day, access to the pool was denied, and it was covered with a plastic sheet without clear explanation.||– No air conditioning in the rooms or restaurant, poor water pressure, and hot water was unavailable at times.||– Drinks were overpriced – water, lemonade, soft drinks, and beer cost significantly more than the average in the region.||||🔚 Not recommended for families or large groups.||The service quality does not match the pricing, and guest treatment was well below...

O experiență neplăcută! Am fost întâmpinați de foarte multe reguli. Ori proprietarii au rămas marcați de perioada comunistă ori le e frică să nu fie pacăliți ori ambele. Turistul caută relaxare nu restricții. Mare noroc cu plimbările făcute.

În weekend nu e voie să parcați mașina în parcarea clădirii de sus pentru că se aglomerează și riști să îți găsești mașina blocată. Nici vorbă de așa ceva, parcarea nu s-a aglomerat, nimeni nu a parcat aiurea. Lumea a fost civilizată. Clădirea necesită renovări, sunt locuri unde cade tencuaiala. Pereți subțiri ori uși de proastă calitate, cert este că se aud conversațiile din camerele alăturate.

La piscină e obligatorie brățara, justificarea fiind că trebuie să fim identificați. 5-6 persoane la piscină. 😂 Asta da problemă cu identificarea. Scara de urcare-coborâre în piscină e desprinsă. Ar fi bine să o reparați, să evitați accidentele. Umbrelele de la piscină, am înțeles chiar de la proprietar, că sunt un hazard, fiind de proastă calitate se rup și e recomandabil să nu le deschidem.

Curtea pare a fi într-o continuă reconfigurare. Mobilier învechit, betonieră, pietriș, nisip depozitate în curte. Apropo, pentru a nu calcă iarba dragi proprietari ar trebui să aveți iarbă. Puneți vă rog niște pietriș să putem să îl călcăm liniștiti.

Există posibilitatea să batem mingea. Dar care minge? Am fost informați că mingea de baschet a fost furată (posibil de un fost client al pensiunii, probabil din motive de nemulțumire a vrut să se răzbunare pe proprietari). Am dat o fugă la Aleșd, dar nu am găsit să cumpărăm. Oradea fiind prea departe am renunțat.

În restaurant mesele nu se pot muta, nu e voie. Probabil se zgârie podeaua. Trist. Personalul restaurantului foarte drăguț! Mâncarea foarte bună, puțin scumpă dar gustoasă. Dacă vreți să încercați bucătăria bihoreană e ce trebuie. Vă recomandăm o oprire scurtă și la subiect, mâncare!

Bufetul suedez este gustos dar limitat. Cert este că este și acesta măsurat cu grijă, dacă se termină ceva anume trebuie să îți faci curaj și să ceri. Bonus, am surprins proprietara plângându-se de mesenii care mănâncă prea mult. Mai bine renunțați la bufet și faceți un meniu pentru micul dejun contra cost.

Refuzați camera 4 din clădirea se sus! Riscați să rămâneți blocați!!! Noi am pățit-o. Trezit de copilul din camera alăturată (nu am nici o plângere legată de copil sau ceilalți turiști) și matinal fiind am vrut să fac o plimbare la ora 6:30 dimineața dar nu am reușit să deschid ușa, fără semnal la telefon, plin de nervi… a fost de vis, distracție maximă. Am reușit să deschidem ușa după vreo 30 de minute de încercări. Dragi proprietari, recomandarea mea este… schimbați yala, degeaba încercați să reparați cu sârmă, șurubelniță și ciocan. Altă ușă! Ușa de la baie scârțâie groaznic! Trezește pe oricine din somn. Oricâtă grijă ai avea în zona dușului se adună multă apă iar mop nu există. În baie miroase a canal. Grețos. Lavabila de pe pereți pe alocuri s-a desprins, stă să cadă. Una dintre prize e desprinsă din perete. Nu știu cum sunt celelalte camere, dar refuzați camera 4. Scump pentru ce primești?

Nu faceți înțelegeri telefonice cu nici unul dintre proprietari! Folosiți sms, Whatsapp, email, orice dar nu verbal. Toate detaliile înțelegerii trebuie făcute în scris. Lipsa unei înțelegeri scrise va fi invocată din păcate în defavoarea dvs. Noi ne-am ars. Și da, dragi proprietari, am venit exact de la 227 km distanță să vă mint, scuze păcălesc. Excelentă acuzație pe care mi-ați adus-o de față cu persoanele de la Constanța.

Personalul din restaurant cu foarte cu bun simț, atent și serviabil! Nota 10 pentru toți cei tineri! Am reveni cu drag să servim masa dar un prânz ar deveni mult prea scump, noi venind de la Timișoara.

Da, ne-am plâns de faptul că am rămas blocați în cameră dar nu am fost luați în serios așa că restul plângerilor le-am păstrat pentru acest review.

Vă mulțumește o familie de bihoreni care s-a mutat în Banat. Ne este rușine de lipsa de ospitalitate și bun simț de care ați dat dovadă!
