Felix Pension — Hotel in Băile Govora

We stayed at Felix Pension Monday 19th July to Saturday 24th July in Apartment 2 that has a balcony overlooking the pool and surrounding hills, bedroom with double bed, main room with double sofa bed, kitchen area with microwave, coffee machine, kettle, fridge and kitchen sink and a bathroom with shower over bath, toilet and washbasin. Towels, complimentary soap, shower gel, shampoo, hand sanitiser and coffee were all supplied. ||||Our apartment was cleaned and complimentary items replenished every two days, in line with other Romanian hotels in which we have stayed.||||Hotel facilities that we used included outdoor swimming pool, gym, salt room, restaurant and terrace; all were all very clean and well presented. The apartment, restaurant and terrace were all decorated in a rustic traditional Romanian theme.||||Breakfast served as a buffet between 08:00ish and 10:00ish was excellent with a variety of cold meats, cheeses, boiled and omelette eggs, sausages, cereals, various home made pastries, fruits, yoghurts all available. Coffee, tea, milk and orange juice were also available as self service. Water however was only available by purchase.||||Kitchen staff required notification at breakfast of our intention to dine at the hotel in the evening such they could resource accordingly. Most ingredients are locally sourced and all meals are cooked to order in the hotel kitchen. We ate every evening at the hotel and on the whole were very impressed with the taste, presentation and quantity. Service was good, although on most evenings when we ordered starters, mains and sides all arrived simultaneously. Strangely however, it worked as we turned our plates of delightful food in to our own mini buffet sharing each others selections, in turn allowing us to sample of most of the dishes on the extensive menu. Interestingly some of the lower priced main dishes (circa 35-45 Romanian Lei) like stuffed peppers, soup, chicken with polenta etc. were better tasting than some of the higher priced main dishes (circa 45-60 Romanian Lei) like pasta, fish and potatoes that were a little disappointing; for example the fish was fatty and the boiled potatoes bland. ||||Govora in which the hotel is located is surrounded by many beautiful monasteries and high mountains, many within 20-60 minutes drive. Unfortunately the hotel has no brochures on any of these places of interest - something that could be improved to assist visitors like ourselves. ||||Staff were very hospitable spending plenty of time with us, showing an interest in the places we had visited, taking care of our needs at the hotel and taking time to talk also to our two young children. ||||Special thank you to Mr Felix (the owner), Adriana and Daniella for the time you spent talking to us and for your service; you made us feel very welcome and ensured we had a very enjoyable holiday whilst in Govora. Rezervare prin telefon, cu cca 3 saptamani inainte, ni s-au cerut 600 lei avans pentru o noapte. Dupa ce am ajuns si am luat camera, ni s-au adus la cunostinta “politicile proprietatii”. Camera primita era intunecata si deloc primitoare, insa am trecut peste. Dupa despachetare am inceput sa gasim “leopardul”. Cearceafurile erau patate si/sau rupte Perne din burete industrial, nicidecum Dormeo cum sustine patroana dupa ce i-am adus la cunostinta problema ca pe acele perne nu se poate dormi. TV-ul era stricat (totul dublat si decolorat) si cu meniu in limba rusa (probabil au avut refugiati ucarineni). Lumina principala nefunctionala in baie, merge doar aplica cu bec de 10W, asa ca te speli pe semiintuneric. Pe toti peretii pensiunii dar si in camera sunt anunturi care interzic aproape tot. Nu ai voie sa mananci sau sa bei ceva in camera, ma intreb la ce buna chicineta. Canapeaua extensibila pentru copil/a 3a persoana gata sa cada, sprijinita pe 2 caramizi. Lipsa totala wi-fi in camera, iar semnalul 3/4G aproape inexistent. Cartela de la camera este facuta dintr-un card de sanatate al unei doamne. Frigiderul si aerul conditionat foarte galagioase, parca isi iau zborul, zangane cestile pe cuptorul de microunde de zici ca au venit caii cu zurgalai. Piscina interioara nu functioneaza pe perioada verii, lucru nespecificat nicaieri. Piscina exterioara murdara, plina de frunze si murdarie pe fundul bazinului. Nu exista pic de umbra la piscina, nu exista umbrele sau copaci unde sa te adapostesti de soare. Mic dejun saracacios, cu produse ieftine, Ketchup-ul indoit cu apa, la fel si dulceturile, rosii borsite, crenwursti necomestibili. “Terasa/balconul” unor camere se afla chiar in fata usii celorlalti turisti, se sta la masa si se fumeaza, tot fumul intrand in camera celor mai putin norocosi. Se trancane pana tarziu in noapte chiar in usa nefericitilor care platesc bani grei. Masa de pranz/seara costa 90 lei/persoana/masa, cu meniu prestabilit de catre pensiune, fara sa poti alege ce vrei sa mananci, am refuzat instant, o masa pentru 3 persoane cu comanda a la carte ne-a costat sub 200 lei oriunde in statiune. Daca nu va place sa urcati pe scari, sau aveti probleme de articulatii, spate, bagaje grele, atunci ghinion. Sunt in total 3 randuri de scari, abrupte, pana la unele camere. Per total o pensiune cu tarife de lux pentru conditii de Africa. Desi aveam sejur de 5 nopti, am plecat dupa prima noapte. Colac peste pupaza, ne-au mai cerut inca 60 lei la plecare pentru ca am stat doar o noapte. Trebuiau sa ma plateasca ei pe mine pentru conditiile in care ne-au primit. I-am transmis doamnei ca am stat la hoteluri de 4-5* in Romania la preturi mult mai mici fata de cat cer ei/noapte. Le amintesc proprietarilor ca haiducia din anii ‘90 s-a dus de mult, voi face plangeri pentru declasificare, vorba copilului meu, astea sunt conditii de radical din 4*. In concluzie, daca vreti conditii decente la preturi normale cautati in alta parte....

The villa is a great place that combine a lot of activities.||It has an inside warm pool, sauna, massage salon, saline room, salt treatment room and a fitness space.||The place has a very nice decorated restaurant with a chic terrace. ||They serve classic meals.||The food is good and here you can find tasty wines.||The hosts are very friendly and they can recommend you traditional local meals and wines.||The rooms are comfy and spacious, very clean, with a small and nice terrace. We have a big bathroom with bath tube.||It is suitable for family and couples too.||Outside, it has a kid's playing corner, a pool and grass spaces where you can lay in comfy chairs.||The villa has parking lots in the garden.||They are situated in a quiet area. ||The city center is about 20 minutes away from the villa.||I recommend...
