Hotel Daly — Hotel in Bărcănești

Update on my previous review: (Oct 2025): I can no longer recommend this place. A week after our stay (29.9.2025), a fire occurred here killing two young women working as housekeepers. Authorities confirmed the hotel was operating illegally, without fire-safety permits, despite previous sanctions and formally closed by authorities. Knowing this, I feel misled and unsafe about ever having booked here. My family and many others were put at risk by a greedy and iresponsabile person. This hotel should be permanently closed. Do not stay here.

We stayed for one night at Hotel Daly. The check-in process was smooth and quick, even though we arrived late in the evening, which we appreciated.

The room itself was generally clean, but we did notice some used napkins under the bedside table, which was disappointing. The air conditioner was available, though the remote control batteries were old, making it a bit difficult to use.

A major downside was the bathroom. There is no ventilation, so it became extremely hot and steamy within minutes, to the point where it wasn’t usable until the morning. The water pressure was also quite low, and it took a while for the water to warm up. Additionally, the tap water is not drinkable, which might be convenient to know before arrival.

The location is about 10–13 minutes from the city center, where you can find shops and grocery stores.
