Pensiunea Ecaterina — Hotel in Berzasca

Dream location for relaxation- it's basically in the middle of nowhere, just being there is a stress reliever. The guesthouse is on a hill, not on the road, overlooking the Danube and hills, with perfect views from everywhere. It's very quiet, in the evening you only hear crickets and frogs. But being a little far off the turistic areas (eg Dubova) you get quiet and relaxation, but you need to rely on car if you want to do anything else than just relax at the pool: 45 min to Dubova bay, 1:30 h to Podul Bei (start of trails in Nera Gorge National Park), 2 h to Bigar Waterfall.||Infinity pool - worth the long road to get here. As good as pictures show. They provide pool towels.||Room - huge, comfortable, quiet, with huge terrace and perfect view. Looks better than photos. All rooms have view. Some have bigger terraces, some smaller, but all have one. Bathroom seemed a bit low quality, in contrast with the rest of the guesthouse. ||Staff - one of the nicest people ever, it's a family business and costumer care is A+ (better than most 4 star hotels).||Breakfast - super yummy and local. Loved it. ||Parking (free) and enough for all guests. ||Good WIFI.||Restaurant food was good enough, fish was fresh and tasty. Not that much variety in food and drinks menu. We stayed here with family for 2 nights a week before Christmas and very close to them finishing for the winter period. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. We were made most welcome and the staff were professional but friendly. Our rooms were all spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and we all had a balcony overlooking the river. Stayed for 2 nights, I'll probably be back for more! The rooms are generous in size, nicely furnished. The doors are unlocked with a card, something you don't see in many Romanian B&Bs.
