Pros: The property has a beautiful location with a lovely view of the mountains. There’s plenty of parking right in front of the house, access is easy, the internet works well, and the rooms are spacious.
Cons: Unfortunately, the overall cleanliness was far below expectations. There was a persistent and strong dog smell throughout the house, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. Public areas, including the tables, were covered in cat fur, and the floors were visibly dirty. The property felt more like a home shared with too many animals than a proper guest house. This environment may not be suitable for people with allergies or for families with small children.
One unpleasant detail was being asked to remove our shoes at the entrance. While this is a reasonable request in a very clean house, in this case it felt inappropriate given the dirty floors and constant animal hair on nearly every surface.
Another issue was the bathroom doors, which had glass that was far too transparent, offering very little privacy—something that should definitely be improved.
The kitchen was outdated and lacked sufficient utensils, which made meal preparation inconvenient. The outdoor grill was a nice touch, but it would have been helpful to have extra firewood available.
When we asked if there was a safe place to store our bikes, instead of offering a helpful solution (such as a public area or secure storage), the response was dismissive and joking: “just leave them outside, no one will steal them.” This made things difficult for us, and we ended up keeping the bikes in our car.
Additionally, the overwhelming number of religious icons and crosses might make some guests uncomfortable. The host’s private space is located very close to the shared guest areas, which affected our sense of privacy. While the host was friendly and often joined in conversations, some guests might prefer a more relaxed and private atmosphere.
Conclusion: The location and potential of the property are clear, but the lack of cleanliness, poor handling of pets, and insufficient respect for guest privacy and comfort make it hard to recommend this accommodation in its...
Read moreThis is a very nice family business located near Ceahlau Mountains. The host and her daughter-in-law were working side by side to cook the meals, to clean the rooms, and so on, helped by the host's son and daughter. The latter made the decorations, which were really exquisite, making one feel at home, and not in an impersonal place: our room had a stand with magazines, a handmade blanket, the colors of the flowers in the painting (a reproduction after Klimt) matched the artificial flowers in the vase on the table below. We also had a terracota stove in the room, where our host lit a wood fire just for the ambiance, because the heating was on. The colors were very nicely combined and assorted in the entire house. The view from the balcony and from the yard was astounding, we could see the entire massif. The balcony also had a very comfortable settee. The place was very clean, each room with a private bathroom, however located in the hall, which was a little bit uncomfortable. The food was delicious, though kind of expensive. I recommend especially the cake ("cozonac") made by the host, it was the best I...
