The pension and the room are nicely decorated. We really liked the traditional furniture and appreciated the cleanliness, the view from the room towards mountains was great. I usually love to stay in attics, here still a watchout if you are tall - the attic we stayed in had the slope too low, positioned over the walking area (forced probably in order to make more rooms), I did hit the attic slope with my head once, even I'm only 1.6m tall.||On service - big disappointment, I expected much better after reading reviews here. It's not the case for good service anymore (or not the case unless owner is there, he was not in most of the time of our stay).||It started when we arrived and were greeted with "we were ready to give your room away" - while we arrived in the evening but within the checkin hours specified by hotel, moreover the room was already paid (booked with credit card no cancellation). It is really not what you want to hear after several hours drive with a small baby.||Basic hospitality - missing, we asked hours for breakfast - we were invited to read ourselves from some board.||Next day we asked if they serve lunch or dinner - yes, all day, no specific hours. When we went for lunch 2pm - they don't have time to cook, we should come in the evening (if we knew they don't serve lunch our plans for the day would have been different)||From my point of view these are some unacceptable attitudes towards guests - I don't expect favors, but reliability is a must, you can't change your mind all the time on services...
Read moreIf you are looking for a few days away from the noise and crowds of the city, without traveling in the middle of nowhere, this place is the perfect choice. It’s a guesthouse with an amazing Transylvanian design. It is obvious that care and quality were put in every little detail (furniture, design, facilities). The guesthouse is in Predelut, near Bran, easy to reach by car (has a private parking), in a quiet area, near a church and cemetery (I personally find these places peaceful), far enough from the busy road to Bran. Not sure if a good idea for traveling without a car. We stayed in an attic double room which was perfect: big room (only a corner had inclined ceiling), big comfortable bed, lovely rustic furniture & linings, sparkling clean, quiet, extra warm inside (with -13 C outside). The only things I didn’t enjoy were the pillows – too hard and uncomfortable for me, and the towels – they were like hard kitchen cloths, not fluffy towels. Also, water pressure was low in the shower. Free toiletries – great quality. The view from the room was lovely and a reason why we chose this place. The staff is nice and very helpful. You can eat in the downstairs lounge (restaurant menu) and the food is good and reasonably priced. You only have to let them know at what hours you’ll dine, because they might close the kitchen before 9 PM if they’re not expecting orders. Free breakfast is OK – limited choices, but good quality. Overall, great value for money! Hope to come back soon (with my own pillow...
Read moreLovely country lodge, not far from the hyper-touristy Bran town centre and Bran Castle. Well laid out room with a comfortable bed, but no kettle or coffee maker. The common area lounge on the second floor features a large fridge for sharing (didn’t go up to the third floor). Breakfast buffet featured scrambled eggs and small sausages, and a selection of items such as bread/toast, yogurt, sliced meats and cheeses, apple crumble, and fruit. Quiet rural roads are perfect for a morning walk. Front desk staff were friendly, helpful with dining recommendations, and making sure that we had everything we needed...
