We stayed here for one night, as we were going to bran castle the next day. Overall it was perfectly acceptable for what we paid. Easy to find in a good location set back from the road so you don't hear the cars at night. You press a bell at the front door as the front door is locked. Someone came over from the main house to help us check in. File in some paperwork and then we were shown to our room. Room has a key which sometimes is a little tricky to turn, you are also given a key for the main door. Room was spacious, well lit and clean. Bed was also perfectly comfy, there was a balcony just outside our room which you could get a view of the castle from. You were also permitted to smoke on the balcony, I loved the view at night pitch black with the castle lit up made it look so eerie. Tip be careful with the floor withdrawal no shoes on I almost slipped a few times especially in the bathroom. Overall a good place to spend the night. After we checked out we even went back as I lost the number for the taxi they gave me, one of the owners is originally from Britain so that proved to be helpful. He organized a taxi for us and made sure the driver knew where we were going, we did get charged more than we agreed but at least it was a safe journey. Overall if you want to stay the night in bran, I recommend here. Also because it's walking distance you can beat the bus crowds making for a much more enjoyable tour...
Read moreWe were absolutely amazed when we arrived at this beautiful guesthouse overlooking Bran Castle and the snow capped Bucegi mountains. We felt more like we'd booked a holiday cottage than a b+b. Even though we arrived later than expected, John was waiting to greet us and spent time to give us a very welcoming tour of the house inviting us to treat it like home for the week. The house, rooms, grounds and views are absolutely stunning and very spacious, immaculately clean and newly furnished. We felt very welcome to use the lounge and kitchen and gardens and really did feel like we were staying in the whole house not just our lovely bedroom. The breakfast was really rustic and delicious with cheeses, meats, fresh eggs and home made jams, though we are not big morning eaters so we only had it the once it really was lovely food and beautifully presented. Both John and his wife were really friendly and happy to help with recommendations for places to see and go. They have such a relaxed outlook and we really did feel welcome and relaxed staying here. This is absolutely the place to stay in Bran and couldn't recommend it more...
Read moreWe stayed as a private walking group of 16 persons and had a great time. The owners John and Ioana were extremely helpful and sociable. We learned a lot about the country and advice was on hand whenever needed support for our adventure. The accommodation was excellent (including the extra rooms we needed at their other property up the hill in Sohodol). The breakfasts were particularly special with many homemade delicacies. We also had most evening meals in the Guesthouse and found them good value with some very tasty homemade local puddings. The area was great for walking and over 8 days we walked 65 miles and climbed around 13,500ft. The paths were good and mostly well marked. We did need transport but the owners were able to explain the best options. We have left our itinerary and gpx routes at the Guesthouse if anyone would like to use them. There are also many nearby places to visit (especially Bran Castle, Brasov and Rasnov) for those looking to be...
