The boarding House Serbeca is located in the Cotârgaș village, nearby Broșteni, on the left bank of the Cotârgaș creek. It is a family business, owned and runned by SERgiu, BEbe and CAmelia. So, Serbeca. The main building is located at the access street. At the ground floor is located a very large restaurant and a huge covered terrace. On an external staircase you have access at the first floor and the attic. First floor has four double rooms with balconies at the street side. Rooms are not very large, as they were designed as bedrooms only. From the hall you enter in a large living/dining room, equipped with a table for 12, many sofas and coffee tables, a cupboard filled with cutlery and dishes, a big fridge with freezer and a large flat screen TV. From the living you enter the open terrace, also very large, with the view to the interior yard. At the end of the living is a small kitchen fully equipped: gas cooker with oven, sink, cupboards full of kitchen equipment, microwave oven. There is a small drawback: rooms do not have own bathrooms, there are two common bathrooms at the end of the hall, equipped with a hydromassage shower cabin. This was not an impediment for us (2 couples in two bedrooms), as we were the only guests on the floor. In the attic there are also two double rooms with one bathroom between them.||A second building, located in the backyard has also several double rooms disposed on two floors. Also, the rooms do not have their own bathrooms, existing two common bathrooms at the ground floor. This building is used only in summer, there being no heating. In the spacious backyard there are two outdoor pools of 130 cm deepness. I've tried the big one, despite the 20˚C both in water and in air. Two big terraces, both covered are used for breakfast, dinner or lunch. As you can have self catering, one of them is equipped with two grills, barbecue tools, kitchen dishes, cutlery, and a large fridge. The owners have a small trout farm, so you can have fresh trout for dinner. As we do not intend to cook, we had breakfast prepared by our hosts: fresh milk, cheese and dairy and honey from local producers, home made sour cherries sweetness and quince jam. Coffee or tea are at your discretion. For dinners we had the local traditional "ciorbă rădăuțeană" (a chicken breast sour soup served with lots of sour cream, garlic and red peppers) and fried trouts served with polenta. The prices are very affordable (18 lei for a big bowl of soup, 25 lei for a 250 g trout with side dish). Breakfast is also 25 lei/portion. If you want, you can also rent an ATV to explore the surroundings. The view is wonderful, the place is very quiet, the rolling water of the creek being the main noise. The owners are very welcoming hosts, it's a real pleasure...
Read moreWe wanted to stay away from the main road trough the Bistrita river valley, but close to the Trans-Rarau. Pensiunea Serbeca was such a lovely location -- only 2km away off the main road, tucked away in the mountains, given a feeling of homeliness in the middle of raw nature. The family who owns the place is genuinely welcoming and they are keeping this place with care and love. We enjoyed the breakfast -- and the special rose lemonade was divine! Unfortunately we had dinner before getting there, so we could not try their own trout raised with fresh mountain water. We also would have loved to bath in the pools, but that summer day was a bit chilly, so we contented ourself with the admiring the nature, chatting with the owners and breathing the fresh mountain air. We'd...
