Hotel Art — Hotel in Buzău

In the city center of Buzau you can find this hotel ... and for those of you who know the city of Buzau you will realize that this is not a very touristic city ... indeed we were just stopping here from 1 night as we were traveling from Brasov to Tulcea , so here are the findings.||The hotel is located very central in Buzau it should be no issue to find it , with a decent parking place in the courtyard of the hotel, so if you arrive by your own car it should be no issue to park safely for the night. ||Check in and check out went very fast and easy , kind staff at the front desk fast payment with credit card. Everything smooth from that perspective. ||Room - spacious and clean - the furniture a bit dated but nonetheless nothing to really complain about. Strong Wi-Fi in the hotel, free of charge. Minibar loaded in the room ...and prices were decent. ||Bathroom - spacious and sparkling clean ... shower booth made it complete - and for one night stay you don't really need more than a shower booth. ||Breakfast - I have to say during the 13 day trip that we did this year was one the best breakfast buffet's we had (stayed in 7 hotel in the 13 days ... the breakfast here was very very good). ||Overall a very good hotel in Buzau , even if just for 1 night it was very convenient and with an excellent price to quality ratio ... If you need a place to stay in Buzau...

I'm always disappointed when a place has great reviews but doesn't live up to expectations. Unfortunately that's the case with Hotel Art. Advertised as a 4-star, and looking great in the pictures online, the reality is different. I would generously call it a 3-star. While relatively central and offering free parking, the hotel is advertised as "recently renovated" and "boutique"... but the rooms are dated (see pictures). No individual toiletries (just an installed dispenser with shower gel), no sheet on the duvet (had to put that on myself after pointing it out to front desk staff and being told...it's hot) and furniture that's damaged/old. Breakfast is fine, though nothing to write home about, and certainly not "excellent". But beware, available only from 7-9 am, and they mean it, as it was clear d by 9:02am; in my opinion, that's a very short window for a 4-star hotel. Price-wise, for what you get, I'd say it's way overpriced. I'm sure there are better, cheaper alternatives in town. I'd therefore...

The Art has a very handy location, right in the city centre, at a 10 minute walk (well, or 5 minute run) from the pleasant Crâng Park, not far from the main square and the heritage city hall, while many other places in Buzău can be easily reached on foot. There is a parking on site, and the hotel has a good restaurant. Rooms are rather large and my bathroom was very large as well. Rooms are correctly appointed, even though there is a bit or wear and tear here and there (the light colour of the carpet allowed every little stain or wrinkle be seen), but everything is clean. Staff were friendly and helpful, both in the reception and in the restaurant. While 4* might be too much for this property, I would definitely stay here again...
