Motel Restaurant Blue River — Hotel in Calimanesti

We were driving from Ramnicu Valcea to Sibiu, and it struck us that although we were a few hundred metres from the famous Olt River, we couldn't see the river and there seemed to be no access to the river bank, where we might have a drink or a coffee overlooking the water. Several times we turned down side streets in the direction where we knew the river had to be, and each time, we ended up in a parking lot, or locals assured us that there was no access. What! Is the river a secret? Anyway, after driving a few kilometres north from Ramnicu Valcea, we caught sight of the river, and by chance there was a small and unprepossessing hotel called the Blue River, where we could see a terrace overlooking the water. So, although we can't report on the rooms, we can say that this is a perfectly good place to pull off the road and have a quiet drink or a snack. It doesn't have the crowds that throng Caciulata, the more famous resort further north; there's a nice view of the river, a little bit veiled by the trees; the terrace is pleasantly landscaped, on several levels; and from time to time you can see, on the opposite bank, the passage of the little train that plies between Ramnicu Valcea and Sibiu....

It's easy to find the location and the atmosphere is excellent. The person is superlative and by the behavior you are urging to come back! On request, you can also have breakfast or lunch, which is good quality and at a small price. The negative side, the bathroom in the room is small but it supplies the deficiency by exemplary cleaning. Outside the premises I had the heat above...

Suis arivee, vers minuit, et apres 3..4 minutes des recherche, je trouvee la reception! En fond de culoir je trouvee une homme que ete en plein someil sur le canapee. Apre 2 minutes de esaier de le reveiller, je le retrouvee COMPLETEMENT BUREE!!! mais lui ete HS total! Je le demander de avoir une chambre single, et lui a essaier de me dire.. Je ne sais pas sua mais... Im ma fait sighne de lui suivre, et il ma ramener dans la cuisine, derrier la.. Tout au fond et il ma balancer les clefs de la chambre 208, ou 108...!ef fine, je le demander de payer la chambre, et ma dit que il na pas. Envie, et ca va etre debitee dans la journee.! Dans la chambre... Une chambre relativement clean, avec une odeur d une chambre agee.., dans le toilete je ne pas ouvrir le toilet, mais dans la sale de douche! Tout deglangee, carelage casee, les joints HS, pomeau en etat bien agee, avec calcaire, le robinet de douche...
