KEMSILVANUM-FORT SILVAN — Hotel in Camăr

The place is located in a nice area of Salaj hills, closest town being Simleul Silvaniei. The vines behind the guesthouse make for a fantastic place to take a walk. The sunset is nice from these hills. The room had also a view on the vine yards, it was spacious enough, clean and comfortable. The price was great with breakfast included. The food at the restaurant was very tasty (especially pork leg with beans), accessible prices and the local wine is quite good and sold at producer price. The cost value ratio is fantastic! It could have been almost 5 stars maybe..

Unfortunately, our stay was severely affected by an event. There was a party (sweet 18 - the future of the region was there) from the evening to 5 in the morning with very loud music. Economically we understand how much money they make out of such even with tens of people compared to our 1 night, but for us it was horrible to be awake at least 2 hours and not being able to fall asleep. We were not announced, the party was just unde our window, it lasted much too long (5?!), the volume was not controlled to be decent for guests at least after a certain our (maybe we were among the few other guests, but still..). Not to speak about pandemic safe conduct.. The restaurant was a bit slow and chaotic - we were not in a hurry in the evening, but for the morning we wished to have had a quicker reaction from staff: they need some training on how to treat customers. There was confusion on price of breakfast - on booking we included it at 25 lei for room (which was surprisingly cheap), on location we paid actually a la carte which was...

If I could give minus stars, I would.

We hosted a gathering here to celebrate our daughter’s baptism with 54 guests. The view is beautiful — that’s the only good thing I can say.

We agreed on a 3-course meal at set times (1PM, 2PM, 3PM). Cold plate came on time but wasn’t fresh. Soup arrived almost TWO hours late, and the main course was also delayed despite repeated requests. They even tried to serve us a fourth course we never ordered. The cakes we had delivered were “lost” and only found later.

Staffing was a disaster. Only two waiters at the start, then one disappeared. The remaining one was responsible for both our event AND hotel guests. I, as the host, ended up taking drink orders myself and trying to help serve. They had only ONE bottle opener for the entire venue, which they shared across three events plus hotel guests. It was total chaos.

Plates weren’t cleared, bottles piled up, and they couldn’t even get the speakers to work — no music at all. The manager was no help, just said “sorry” with a blank face and took no responsibility.

We picked this place because the photos looked amazing. In reality, it ruined the entire event. Guests were hungry, tired, and disappointed — rightfully so.

Avoid this place at all costs if your event matters to you. The location is nice, but the staff and management are totally unprofessional and unprepared....

Revelion 2023. Pensiunea Kemsilvanum- Loc. Camar, jud. Salaj. Locatia: curatenie exemplara cu atentie la detalii o sala spatioasa aranjata cu bun gust, cu un numar optim de invitati, pt a nu fi inghesuit, dar indeajuns pt o atmosfera perfecta Meniul: nu am vrut sa stiu meniul dinainte, am vrut sa fie o surpriza. Si a fost o surpriza foarte placuta, pt ochi si mai ales pt papilele gustative. mancare multa chiar si pt mine, care sunt un gurmand si un "mâncau" ce se reflecta si in mărimea hainelor XXXXL. Nici eu nu am reușit sa mananc din toate produsele, (putine au ramas negustate) dar sunt sigur din experienta mea si din reactiile celor ce au mancat din ele, ca au fost la fel de gustoase ca cele pe care le-am savurat. Si da, e normal ca portiile sa fie mai mari decat ar putea manca o persoana, din considerentul ca din toate felurile s-ar putea ca unele sa nu fie pe gustul unora sau altora. Nu a fost cazul meu. Mi-a placut totul. Bauturile -nu degeaba se numeste avanpostul nordic al viticulturii, fiecare a putut sa gaseasca vinul care este pe gustul sau Servirea buna nu am fost grabiti cu felurile de mancare, dar nici nu s-a așteptat inutil intre ele, iar ideea cu bufet dupa ora 12, a fost foarte buna. Atmosfera nu s-a simtit lipsa muzicii live, datorita unui DJ priceput care a mixat muzica variata, de buna calitate, si de atmosfera extraordinara creata de meseni. (Aici nu se prea potrivește substantivul meseni, pt ca mai mult s-a dansat decat s-a stat la masa). focuri de artificii la trecerea dintr-un an in altul Multiculturalitate Da, bravo pt Camar, bravo pt cei care s-au ocupat de toate detaliile petrecerii. Am ramas foarte placut surprins de toleranta, cultura, si viziunea deschisa atat a organizatorilor, cat si a participantilor la petrecere, care de nationalitati si culturi diferite au reusit sa se distreze impreuna, fiecare pe muzica celuilalt si sa se respecte reciproc. (Asa cum e normal) Dimineata la ora 5 s-a terminat petrecerea, fara sa fi auzit o injuratura, un pahar spart, sau fara sa fi vazut o persoana in stare de ebrietate. Minusuri Ca fost manager de restaurant si cu un istoric de 16 Revelioane organizate, iese si criticul din mine, si imi permit doua sugestii: Mie mi-au lipsit prajiturile de pe masa, chiar daca tortul a fost f bun.
