I will detail the conversation with the owner (patron):|- Arriving at the location we found out that the car parking is not available, just random on the available street spots. Advance payment for reservation was not sufficient to get the room, the room was at the 3rd floor, wood stairs on spiral with no safety child precautions, no elevator, difficult to manage with two small kids of one and four years old.|- receptionist said that there are no other rooms and we have to pay the entire amount for the stay in advance; we asked to see the owner for clarifications.|- owner arrived nervous and with a really rude attitude said that if we want to "step in the room" we have to pay first the entire amount for full vacation and afterwards advance payment will for sure apply on each service : "even for two fried eggs, because you know how the tourists behave" owner said - I replied to him that I don't know what the hell he is talking about. For sure he was acting this way knowing that he wouldn't reimburse the accommodation advance payment and he is still ok with that.|- it was for the first time this happened to us and we decided not to go ahead with the reservation.|We searched within the location some other available rooms and enjoyed our vacation anyways.||I surely advise not to go for this property. Verry poor service quality, rude owner, no parking place while bears are running to the neighborhood...
Read moreThis is one of the best placed I've stayed in in Durau. It's close to the ski slope, as well as to the Durau monastery (with features some awesome mural paintings). The food in the restaurant was good, my little girl was more than delighted about the schnitzel. ||||The rooms are OK in size. Also, room cleanliness was not an issue, on the contrary. We liked that the shower was separate from the bathroom, at least in the room where we stayed. The balcony was quite large, which, if the weather permits, is a nice place to sit and enjoy the view and the sounds that come from the forest nearby. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms (there are smoke alarms on the ceiling), but I noticed it is permitted on the balconies.||||As a negative, the handle of the bathroom window was broken, which made opening / closing the window a challenge. Also, the opening mechanism of the small window from the shower room was not functioning properly. These things should be checked every once in a while, as such malfunctions are not fit for a 4 star location.||||All in all, the experience here was a positive one. The staff were more that kind, polite and always ready to assist. Thank you...
Read moreI have only used the restaurant. We were only visiting the area. The location is great, and probably when it was opened, it looked great. Now, it probably needs some face-lift, but it is still decent. The staff was kind, but there were only 2 people doing the serving for both inside and outside. There are plenty of tables, so only two waiters are not enough. They only had one baby chair, and as it stayed outside in the rain, it looked a bit dirty and was impossible to properly clean it fast. The we ordered two soups, one was fair and the ontherone was great. We also ordered some meat rolls (Mititei), and they were good enough, but not great. We were able to pay with a card. My expectations weren't for a Michelin restaurant, so if either the whole food was as good as one of the soups, I would have given 5 stars. Also, if they weren't understaffed and the kid chair would have been clean enough, I would also have given 5 stars even if the food was the same. The prices were...
