The hotel is really a motel situated about 30 kilometres outside of Cluj-Napoca but it is only a short drive to the city on a good road or will cost about 50 Lei in a taxi. From the airport it is a little more at about 80 lei and beware of the rip off taxis there who will try and charge a lot more.||The hotel is a basic hotel but very comfortable with good hot showers, surprisingly comfortable beds, but it can be noisy as with many continental motel/hotels as shoes/heels on tiled hard floors make a lot of noise and any noise can appear louder due to the echo caused. If you have a room on the front, it may also be noisy due to the road but the double glazing cuts most sounds.||The hotel is attached to an excellent local restaurant which is part of the motel complex. It is slightly confusing checking in as this is actually done in the restaurant as the hotel's main entrance in closed. The food here is good hearty fare and the beer and wine list is extensive and cheap. Breakfast is also provided in the restaurant and all in all the venue provides excellent value for money and offers the opportunity to explore the local countryside with hills and fishing close by.||Great value for money but should be avoided if you want to be in the heart of Cluj-Napoca. However, if you want friendly staff and a romanian welcome, then this is a...
Read moreHello,||We booked this hotel on the go, meaning we were already on the road when we searched the web and found this place. Price was appealing, but don't be fooled: the rooms are 8/10 clean, bathroom is OK, but the shower is absolutely horrible. Youust stand on sandstone, so if you don't have any slippers you might end up getting a cold. There is no cabin, just a side door protecting the sink area from the water. It's pretty cold, so if you are lookong for a warm tidy place, this is not it.|You only get 10 TV stations, out of which you have 5 working properly and 1 with a black screen, nothing international.|Also, the hotel has the backyard under construction, so the view is "strange".|The staff is OK, but the reception is in te kitchen area, and when we arrived at around 23:30, we noticed that several tables were still having plates with food leftovers while nobody was sitting at any of these tables.|Overall not horrifying, but don't take rooms facing the road, you don't get any sleep.|It's about 30 km away from Cluj, so this is more suitable if you want to spend the night here in order to visit the Turda Salt Mine. Othervise...
Read moreWe were in Turda to visit the Salt mine and we decided to go for dinner to the Paprika Han, close to Turda, on a Friday afternoon. As soon as we went on the terrace a very rude waiter informed us that is closed for a wedding taking place next day on Saturday???? Now I panicked because coming from Sighisoara with our friends we could not have a drink, not to mention a meal and started to google for a place to eat. Then Calin, the nicest, kindest waiter I ever met shows up, very apologetic about the whole situation and said " I am a waiter for the past 30years and no miners left this place hungry on my watch ". I was so touched I almost cried, so he insisted to stay and he come with the nice recommendations from the menu and we had a wonderful meal and he was very professional, his english was good and we were very , very happy. We woud like to thank to the Chef and everyone from the kitchen also. That day Calin was my hero and I was not embarrassed in front of my Canadian friends. The Restaurant should be grateful to have him. Thank...
