Pensiunea Zbor — Hotel in Cluj Metropolitan Area

Unfortunately this accommodation was the only bad experience we had in Cluj. We came here during the Untold festival and booked a double room for 4 nights. We were confirmed to have a double bed (this counted when we chose this place). We arrived very late (1:30 AM) and had to pay an extra service fee in order for someone to come and check us in (we thought this was quite normal). We checked in and we noticed we had twin beds. Since it was very late, we did not have a choice and we accepted. Also, we had another issue : the room we got was on the top floor and had a big window on the ceiling and another small one on one side. None of these windows had any curtains. Due to that, starting with 6:30 AM, the room was full of light and even more than that, one bed was in direct sunlight (through the window on the ceiling). It was simply a nightmare to sleep after 6:30 AM. Since we were there for this big festival , we were coming to sleep late in the night (4 – 5 AM) and could not rest at all. After 2 nights we were zombies….||The second day I mentioned these issues to the reception. I said I could accept the twin beds but we have to solve the light problem. They told me there were no other rooms available and they cannot do anything. They advised me to call their manager. I did that, explained the problems we encountered but I was treated with arrogance and I was told I will be called back later. Of course, no one called me back. I spent 4 nights like this, sleeping with a towel over my head. ||Before our departure, before the last night, I asked the reception to allow me to check out a bit later, as a small favor to compensate for all the issues we had. They told me the check out time was 11 AM. Everywhere inside the building, the written check out time was 11:30 AM. We even checked our booking details and of course the time was 11:30. The lady at the reception told me again to call the manager and ask him if I can check out later. I did that and again I was treated with the same arrogance from a man that simply should never work in tourism ever. He said finally we can check out 30 min later. We said ok. However, the next day, the cleaning ladies started to knock on the door at 11 AM and at 11:30 simply wanted to enter the room. We had to insist and tell them to talk to the reception because we had an agreement for a delay of 30 min (until 12 PM). This attitude simply amazed us. ||As a conclusion, the place doesn’t look bad but the services and the overall experience was awful. The manager of this place (Mr Cionca) simply does not know what tourism means. I would never come to this place again and I would advise everyone to avoid it. The services offered here are suitable for the poorest country in Africa (although the fees we payed are quite west European – over 100 EUR/night). Cluj is such a beautiful city with very nice people and really nice places to go. This place and the services offered, the arrogance and superior attitude from management is something all of us should discourage. Such places do not fit in a modern...

For out trip to Malta we had a flight from Cluj-Napoca - being so we decided to be there the night before - have a good sleep and than get on the flight. |The place of choice - a budget location , obviously - the "Zbor" guest house in Cluj Napoca. |So here are the findings. |The guest house messaged prior to arrival, with all sort of useful info, from the access code, room number, taxi reservation number for the next day in the morning. Very nice people and very helpful. |We got the room on the 2nd floor - spacious , with a good size bed, clean and comfortable. |Bathroom , clean and functional with all the needed items available. |AC in the room - for the hot summer nights - we did not use it , but it was there. |In the room leaflet with choices for ordering food - should you don't want to hit the city. |Overall, for spending the night before or after a flight it is ideal, clean , quiet and located literarily 7 minutes away from Cluj airport - 7 minutes driving ... you can even walk the distance if you travel light. |Overall nothing fancy , but if you are looking for a place to spend the night this can be a very...

Very disappointed especially after reading lots of good reviews. We have been trying to get a room for a night, 30-31st of December. When i called for the first time i have been told the room will cost 200RON. Second time of calling i have been told is 250RON but agreed as first time, at 200ron. We went to the place to check in as the following morning we have the flight. So we have all the luggage with us and waited in front of the gate for more than 30 minutes. When i called the owner for the last time, he was really rude. He started to shout that i am in the wrong place and an old lady was waiting for us long enough to give us the key. He then mentioned for the first time that i should be at Pensiunea Zbor 1 not just Pensiunea Zbor. How should i know that if he never mentioned it? Then he asked me if i still want the room or not. Obviously i said no and went to a great hotel. Very disappointed with the owner's behaviour as he would have given the room for free. anyone booking with Pensiunea Zbor check which one is it.
