Excelentza & Social Lounge — Hotel in Comănești

If you do not want to dammage your Car,do not go to this so called 4 star pensiunea! The road to this place is horrible and damaged our Car. The owners are strange people who do not know how to treat their guests With respect and listen and talk properly. The wife is not friendly and rather not Greet you. The shower didn't work at first and had to be fixed the next day by the irritated owner. Breakfast was not so good, cold coffee,old bread and awfull milk for the children. We said something about iT..... No excuse and next day exactly the same. We had a non-functioning kitchen in the room With no water etc. The owner said to fix that but hè never did. Ofcourse , they want you to eat drink and pay in restaurant.....Sunday was room not cleaned and trash still full of dipers, no clean towels. The owner was irritated when we asked for at least clean towels. When we wanted to talk about all this what to expect in 4 star hotel, the owner Walked away and the wife was shouting and screaming. They didn't want to listen to their guests and said that our room was rented to New people. So we had to look for New accomodation With our 3 little children! I do not know how they got their 4 stars. The bathroom stunk and water stayed in sink and next to bath. We would recommend everybody: do not go here ! We went there late at night on a Wednesday of I remember correctly, and even though it was late we were greeted in a wonderful manner by the owner, Mr Gil. We had a late dinner, which was delicious by the way, and we had a drink in the garden. All this time Mr Gil was arround, but without imposing, asking us if everything was fine and if we wanted anything elese. It was fab! That's why we decided to come back a few days later to spend the rest of our holiday there! We had all the service we wanted, we had guests staying over on 2 separate occasions and Mr Gil was very friendly about it! He and his lovely wife Madalina even provided us a birthay cake for our little one as it was her birthday during our stay there! It is true that the road to the location is not the best but the owners apologized for this, even though it's not their own fault! The road was being fixed during our stay there and Mr Gil kindly told us about another alternative route which was much better! As we left during the early hours of the morning, we did not get to say a well deserved "thank you" to Mr Gil, his wife and all the staff that made our holiday wonderful! Thank you again for all your services and we will definetly come back to stay at La Excelenza next time we visit Romania! We recommend it...

Gil and his wife turn the hotel stay into a family experience. You are not staying at a hotel, this is home! The food is fabulous and fresh. We had a 1 week stay as a Habitat for Humanity group and Gil served us tremendously. In the evenings before dinner a drink or 2 would be had. Gil's hospitality had us drinking some of his homemade "firewater" and liquor. A true host and ambassador for his country and town. We had a bonfire the celebrate the week's end. He is always asking for improvements and ways to help.
