And, because we live in the digital age, I will recommend the ideal place for LOG OFF !! In addition to the fact that you can easily find it being located in the central area of Corund, Harghita County, Molnos Mansion because we are talking about it, is the place that opens its doors to a dream world, full of Szekler tradition, comfort and cleanliness. We will accompany you, also virtually, with the eyes of the soul, in a visit to the mansion.
The high rooms, six in number, the boyar-scented furniture, the bathroom with bathtub, in which the relaxation is completed by the well-being created by candles placed in Corund ceramic lamps.
On the porch where ceramic planters rest, where they seem to laugh at red geraniums, rich in flowers and scents, you will be able to dream in an old swing, debugging your childhood memories.
The same veranda is bordered at one end by a living room decorated with the same attention to detail that allows you to find yourself in good times both for an afternoon tea and a glass of wine in the evening admiring hunting trophies and listening to stories. their. If here you can end your day at the opposite end of the veranda you can start it: a terrace dominated by a large solid wood table, guarded by heavy chairs made of the same hardwood; also here rests an oven waiting for the bread with potatoes or seeds and the grill for steaming steaks.
The taste, quality and abundance of breakfast prepared with soul and skill by an authentic housewife, bring to the rank of delicacies traditional products from the Szekler cuisine area.
For cool seasons the mansion invites you to the cellar heated by apple fireplaces, armchairs dressed in thick furs, where you can start your day with breakfast prepared with the same love for taste and where you can enjoy only a little twenty-five kinds of jams and jams prepared in the house waiting quietly in the old blidars.
The courtyard of the concha is paved with stone on which you can hear the horseshoes of the old carriages, replaced today by the horsepower of the cars of our times. freshly sewn.
For the health of the body, a place of honor in the garden has a sauna and a bucket of salt water, and for the health of the soul, a few steps barefoot through the dewy grass seem to raise you in the blue horizon at sunrise.
I want these lines to be the weight that will tip the scales when you are determined to take a break from everyday life and find yourself as you...
Read moreMy sister and I were on a Discovery tour of Transylvania, the birthplace of our grandparents and their forebears too. Our guides, with us on this part of the trip, had booked us into this newish BandB accommodation. It had only been finished a few months previously, so everything is brand spanking new. Actually, not all new, as each room (each slightly different) is also fitted out with gorgeous antique furniture, as well as remodelled old pieces, remade into new, such as the sewing treadle made into a bathroom basin. But the furnishings are exquisite, and the rooms so spacious! Each room has aspects of the crafts that make Korond/Corund famous - the ceramic and pottery industry the area is renown for, and the embroidery and weaving. The rooms are on the second level, and underneath is a spacious kitchen, dining and lounge area also fitted out in antique furniture and furnishings. |The breakfast was substantial, with omelettes or other cooked breakfasts made to order, and cereals, breads, meats etc spread out for you. Fresh homemade bread was on each table - very nice. Although they don’t normally do dinners, for our group we were also treated to a lavish spread on our first night - a starter soup, main of practically a half a turkey, potatoes, mushrooms and polenta, and cakes to finish. |The gardens outside are immaculate, and at the end of the block is a covered area with a sauna and saltwater spa. Some of the group indulged in that, and proclaimed it good! |I would really recommend Molnos Kuria. The young couple who have spent some time developing the place and who are your hosts are friendly and generous. The accommodation is a very short walk from all the main craft shops that Korond is famous for, and is central for exploring the wider area. There are plans to develop the top floor as well, so more rooms will be added to the seven...
Read moreWe traveled as a couple and stayed at Molnos Kuria for 4 nights. Upon arrival we were very impressed with the location and how this beautiful place is put together. The level of attention to details and respect for tradition just leaves you astonished. The rooms just transpose you into a mid century mansion, but with all the modern facilities available for you.||We especially loved the fireplace where we enjoyed a glass of wine every evening, the salt water hot-tube and the sauna are a great thing to have (the outside freezing temperature combined with the hot salty water are truly a relaxing experience). Rooms are incredibly clean and very tastefully decorated, the furniture is beautifully reconditioned and all the décor falls perfectly in place creating a unique style.||The common area is constructed in the same style and guests have access to a pool table, darts and other games. Breakfast is extremely delicious and diverse. Although majority of the food is traditional Hungarian and Romanian food you can also ask for a simple omelette or fried eggs, but it is a real pity to miss out on the traditional foods sampled for breakfast.||Overall we had a great experience and it is highly probable that we will return to this...
