Riviera by Queen’s — Hotel in Drobeta-Turnu Severin

Located on the banks of Danube, facing the Iron Gates dam, it's a cosy place with better services than the norm of this zone. Of course there are small issues.

The most annoying was some sort of glow-in-the-dark lamp on the wall in the room. Being self sufficient it cannot be turned off in any way. That has no place in a bedroom and should be replaced.

Only one power socket in the room, already full with tv, receiver, fridge and AC. This is not only bad, but also a safety hazard.

At this location there are often parties, anniversaries and such. Not very disturbing but they took place in 2 different nights we were here.

Breakfast is minimal but somewhat better than others around. Service was good, kids are doing their best. Girls more than boys.

Bed are comfortable. AC works good, as the rooms get very, very hot in the summer, more than 30+ degrees Celsius - result of no insulation, no triple-pan huge windows.

You can cool off in a decent sized pool. Still that pool attendant should do his job better, plenty of dangerous jumping going around, although forbidden. Pool is not reserved for guests only, anyone can enter. Too bad. There are plenty of sunbeds, but the umbrellas need an upgrade to bigger ones to keep up with the blistering sun.

Lots of small things broken around, rooms are in need for an overhaul.

Definitely a place to return every summer which I will do in a couples of days after the wonderful experience I had with my daughter and friends last year even if pandemic one. ||||I also chose this place for a media trip with almost 20 journalists from Bucharest, they were impressed and eager to come back on their own with their families and/or friends. ||||Launched 3 years ago, everything is modern and up to date, also cosy, the place is located on the banks of the Danube. What else, qualified and friendly staff excellent rooms, air conditioning and cable TV of course.||||But "la pièce de résistance" is the pool by the Danube, a magnificent combination. Also the food is delicious and Taverna Sarbului with a lot of fresh fish and local...

E un loc frumos din punct de vedere al peisajului si cam atata. Am sunat de 2 ori sa fac rezervarea, prima data a spus ca este totul ok,a2a oara am sunat sa ma asigur ca rezervarea este inca disponibila,m-au gasit cu greu in calculator dar pana la urma au facut-o. Dupa 4 zile de la ultimul telefon dat ,am plecat catre locatie, ajungand acolo pe la ora 21:00 cand ne-am trezit ca de fapt nu avem camera rezervata. Dupa ce am cerut sa vorbesc cu patronul deabea atunci doamna de la receptie s-a decis totusi sa vada despre ce e vorba,spunandu-mi ca nu mai are ce camera sa ne dea nici astazi nici maine,dupa ca are camera dar costa 300 de lei pe noapte nu 180,cu cat am rezervat initial,ca pretul s-a schimbat. Am cerut iar sa vorbesc cu patronul si bineinteles, nu l-a chemat si pana la urma ne-a dat o camera,curatata mediocru(fire de par,paianjeni). Dupa care ,a2a zi ,surpriza ne-au mutat altundeva deoarece cineva a rezervat fix camera in care stateam noi si nu voia alta.(macar aceasta era curata) Majoritatea fetelor de la hotel au un tupeu fantastic si vorbesc de parca parintii tai cu parintii lor sunt prieteni de o viata ( de la: "alo domnu' sezlongul acesta este rezervat,in contextul in care nu scria nimic pe el ca pe celelalte, la : acuma imi zici ca vrei sa platesti cu cardul?"). Servirea foarte proasta ,stai 15 minute sa ti se ia comanda (cand sunt ocupate 3 mese pe terasa) iar dupa vin si stau in capul tau fara sa le chemi la masa,te intrerupe din orice discutie, fara niciun motiv intemeiat. Mancarea este buna,iar in asociere cu peisajul este superb,dar ATAT. Daca puteti trece peste nesimtirea personalului si doriti sa mergeti ,cereti dovada rezervarii ,iar daca aveti norocul sa fiti serviti de o ospatara blonda,mai inalta care este de un bun simt iesit din comun atunci poate o sa...
