We stayed there for two nights and ended up regretting not staying more.||The personnel is very friendly and helpful. The location is breathtaking and there are plenty of activities to fill your days. You can swim in the hotel pool, do some sunbathing on the private beach, go on boat rides on the Danube, rent a bike from the hotel or just take long walks around - view is awesome.||Some important things to know:||- It is quite far from Orsova city, around 15km. It is also further than the village of Eselnita so don't plan hiking or getting a cab. The owner is helpful, ask him for directions via mail/phone.||- If you come by car, the road is good up to the statue of Decebal, where you have to take a right to a ~1 KM unpaved road. It's not that bad but be prepared to wash your car when you leave as it will gather dust during your stay. The hotel has video surveillance of the parking which is also good.||- you have to bring and cook your own food here. There are enough resources in nearby Orsova but it's good to have everything when you arrive. This way you won't waste 2-3 hours to re-fill your supplies. There are enough appliances to help you cook (barbecue included) although there could be limited space in the fridge&freezer if there are many guests. Pasta, rice and stuff like that can be a good idea. If you're a fisher, the food aspect may be easier to handle.||- Talk to the owner/personnel for boat rides. If enough guests agree, they can arrange for a boat to come pick everyone up right from the hotel. We...
Read moreActually, the pension is not in Orsova, but 19 km away from Orsova to Dubova direction, or 6 km from Dubova if you come from the other direction. When you arrive at Decebal statue, from DN57 you change direction to right (if you com from Orsova) and then drive 1,7 km on a secondary road, on the Mraconia Bay's shore. This road could be a little challenging if you're not used with driving on unasphalted roads. But it won't take you more than five minutes, very slow and carefully driving. And there you are, arrived!||We got a room not very fancy and not too comfortable, pretty small, no TV, but very clean, and the bathroom properly working, with good water pressure, cold and hot as well.||The yard is carefully arranged, with lawn all over, a small pool on the right side and kitchen area on the left, with grills, stove, vessels, refrigerators and everything you need for cooking. There are also two gazebos, each one having a grill, in case there are two different groups they can cook and stay separately. At the backside of the yard there is also a table right on the bayshore, under a willow, a very nice shadowy place to stay and play rummy or something.||Back on the bridge there is a mini landing place for small rowing boats and bicycles that you can rent from the owner. Also, there are proper stands for fixing the...
Read moreThe rooms are small, they say that they have A/C but in reality they don't have in the room, you have to sleep with the door from your room opened to have some cold air. The bathroom is really small, with a sink smaller than the one in the airplanes. The bathroom is dirty and smelly. The carpet from the room smells like dirty foot... They are in the middle of nowhere without restaurant and even the possibility to buy a bottle of water. The access until the guesthouse is terrible. 1.2 km of off-road, if you like your car, try to avoid. We drive this distance in 15 minutes. For us was the first time when we left earlier from our vacation. I appreciate that the host charged us only for the night we stayed. He is friendly and a good man, to bad of the conditions that he offers. The garden is spectacular, with nice view, with grass, swimming pool, beach area. It's really nice and arranged, if he improves the conditions and he tries to offer more, he will have success. Otherwise he will die slowly but...
