Rooms are out dated but doable. The location is beautiful. Wifi is out most of the time I tried getting on. Probably too many users connected. Lots of power outages once my entire group of (15 individuals) had arrived.
Restaurant food was delicious some days and horrible others. Service was sometimes very fast and professional, other times it was just the worst. Rude and i mean rude, or slow. One experience while at the restaurant, I had my umbrella moved by the waiter. Taken right from over my head and dragged to another table for a larger party. Never said anything to me, not one word. Just left me to eat my food in the rain (it was a light drizzle).
The pool... If it's open, you have to pay to enter. Even as a hotel guest... It's also the community swimming pool. My colleagues said there was a bad smell to the water but I couldn't confirm as I wasn't paying.
Laundry service is not included and does a good job but, good luck trying to get your clothes turned in. Was told to leave them by the door in a bag. They sat by the door for 4 days before finally being taken. When they were finished, you need to go down to the restaurant to sort yours from everyone else's clothes.
I feel the locals either hosting a party or at the restaurant took precedence over the hotel guests. Every night except Monday's and Tuesday had very loud parties until 0400. The owner never really acknowledged our presence with a hello, greeting, or even a simple smile.
This is my hardest review because some staff were top notch while others make you feel unwelcomed.
The most annoying thing I experienced while there was, the son of the owners boyfriend. OMG, he is incredibly obnoxious and LOUD! There every single day with his friends. And I was there for a month. He's also dating a waitress there so yeah, you get to watch and hear that too...
I do a lot of business travel and have been to many other 3 star hotels. This was the worst towards foreigners. If you are a local, it's probably an awesome place. For a foreigner, don't bother. Just stay anywhere else but here.
Also, this is the second time posting this review. The first...
Read moreThis motel is set among trees on the west bank of the Danube, within sight and north of the Borcea bridge. It is at the end of a track to the river and has a terrace overlooking the water. It seemed to cater mainly for parties and other events, but as a hotel, it was rather lackadaisical. Bedrooms were clean with reasonable bathrooms and comfortable beds, but were not especially spacious. Evening meals on the terrace and breakfast in the large room between the body of the hotel and the river were both okay but were neither memorable nor of anything other than the moderate quality. Overall, a perfectly adequate place to use as a base but functional rather than special...
