Pensiunea Sara — Hotel in Focșani

We moved onto this hotel after a very poor visit to another. Rooms are a good size, plenty of space to hang items and generally a good standard.||||The bedrooms share a common terrace which is a bit strange as there is no privacy at all.||||Bathrooms are smallish but do the job and the shower always has hot water unlike other places!||||Rooms always seem to be very hot despite turning the heating off in the room and the over powering smell of smoke seems to drift in to the bathroom when the extractor fan is turned off.||||Staff are very friendly and helpful and the food always good but sometimes served cold? Why the food is not served on heated plates to maintain the food at a nice temperature is beyond me!||||My biggest gripe with the hotel though is the smoking. It would be much better if there were non smoking rooms so those that do not smoke do not have to endure others filthy habit. ||||We stayed here 3 nights and pleased with everything other than...

I had a very nice 10 day stay here , the staff are very friendly , helpful and speak good English. I personally chose Pensiunea Sara for its location just outside Focsani for quietness, safe parking and ease of getting onto the route 2D which is a fantastic drivers alpine road up through the mountains of the Vrancea national park , which is a national road and stays open throughout the winter months unlike the Transfagarasan and Transalpina which both close.

If you value and enjoy driving a high performance car then you will enjoy Pensiunea Sara and you MUST drive the Route 2D From Focsani to Brasov.

Eigentlich wollte ich dieses Hotel mit 3 von 5 Punkten bewerten, wenn man es mit internationalen Hotels vergleicht. Aber ich vergleiche es fairerweise mit dem Standard in Focsani, und da sticht es doch positiv heraus. Das Essen im eigenen Restaurant ist sehr gut und frisch. Das Personal ist teilweise sehr professionell und freundlich (teilweise heißt: einige machten ihre Sache sehr gut, einer war Spitzenklasse, und zwar der Herr, der in Schottland gearbeitet hat, ich habe seinen Namen nicht notiert. Ein großes Kompliment! Und andere wiederum wirkten abwesend. Besonders die Dame, die uns beim Auschecken nicht nach der Schlüsselkarte fragte, als wir diese in der Brieftasche vergaßen. Ich musste durch die ganze Stadt zurückfahren, nach dem sie es bemerkt hat und uns unfreundlich am Telefon ermahnte). Aber das hat man in jedem Unternehmen: gute Mitarbeiter und andere, dir fehl am Platz sind. Der positive Eindruck überwiegt aber, weil die Betten sehr bequem sind, das Zimmer ausreichend Platz hat, gepflegt ist, viele Parkplätze direkt am Hotel hat und abseits der lauten Straße liegt. Die lauten Hunde in der Nachbarschaft, die nachts über bellten, bewerte ich mal nicht mit. Da kann das Hotel ja nichts für. Scheint auch ein generelles Problem in vielen Gegenden des Landes zu sein. PS: im April war der Swimming pool noch nicht in Betrieb. Im Sommer sieht es anders aus. Noch ein Vorteil im Vergleich zu anderen...
