The location in the countryside is great and very romantic, however some of the basics were amiss during our stay:||1. Toilets in the hall don't include a lock on the door making it uncomfortable to take a break in fear that someone will walk in on you|2. Our bathroom didn't look finished with visible screws on the wall and a leftover used soap from previous guests|3. Breakfast was a challenge for someone with a dairy intolerance. No labelling on food and not even jams was available to spread on the bread. |4. Massively understaffed. The only staff in the morning we checked out was very stressed, having to manage setting out the breakfast for all guests and running check out too. Also, he didn't speak English which made communication near impossible and which isn't acceptable for an international hotel|5. Breakfast doesn't start until 9am which is too late for travellers wanting an early gateway to explore the area |6. The view from the room was on a construction site which was not only noisy, but also begs the question of the view future guests will have considering that whatever is being built will block the...
Read moreWhile the location offers a spectacular view, our overall experience was extremely disappointing. On the same day of our arrival, two of our reserved rooms were suddenly canceled—even though we had rented the entire property. This decision completely disrupted the purpose of our visit, which was a team training.
The staff was unapproachable and arrogant, restricting even basic team bonding activities like playing music or speaking at a normal volume. Their attitude made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. In the end, we chose to leave the property and go to Sibiu for a proper evening out, partly because of their opposition to bringing our own beverages—something we would have gladly avoided by purchasing on-site, had we been treated with basic customer respect.
The so-called training room was a major letdown as well—poorly located with no natural light and absolutely no view. Based on our experience, we do not recommend this place for any kind of event or...
Read moreFor us this stay was a way to break a long trip in 2 parts and allow quick access to TransAlpina. It is also close to few smaller saxon villages plus Calnic, the Unesco monument. We arrived in the evening and once we saw the villa on the hill, we had a good feeling. The place is new, large parking lot and good access from main toad. The accommodation standards are very high, large rooms, comfortable beds, balcony with great view, cleanliness. The owners (Dutch?) did great here, there is also a pool. The restaurant serves very good food for relatively small prices, try the trout menu with boiled potatoes and green beans salad. The breakfast was high quality, buffet, with quite a diversity. The personnel was very helpful, attentive and professional. Very good price for what we got.||The only minor inconvenience was around the phonic isolation, especially regarding the noisy ventilation system from the bathroom, but overall it was...
