Meander — Hotel in Gherla

After a year I am trying to find a new place to visit but I keep comparing them all to Meander and none seams to be as appealing! This made me wright a review, which I never usually do! It is the perfect place for a couple’s getaway, the rooms are all so special, with so much attention to detail, none is the same as the other, some with very chic bathtubs. The food is amazing. I was so surprised how the cook managed to make such a wonderful vegetarian dish, even though we mentioned about this diet just moments before dinner, considering they have just few options each day, all very nice, from my husband’s review. We said we would visit the place even just for this! The little pool offers an experience, given the shape, lights and the textures of the materials, that makes you feel almost like in a cave, in a good way! Definitely wouldn’t reccomend to anyone with special dietary requirements. Even though I payed the full fee (which should include meals) I know it can be difficult to accomodate multiple allergies, so I just asked for fries for dinner. The hosts’ response was that I would have to wait for about an hour or more, because they have to prepare dinner for all the other guests first… The next morning me and my husband asked for omelette, mine should have been milk and wheat free. His was served after one hour, they completely forgot about mine. When I reminded them, I got an omellete with wheat germ on it, even though I had said I am gluten intolerant. Since I have diabetes and had taken my isulin shot, I also had a hipoglycemia because of them forgetting my order… The spa is fairly small. During the first evening there was a loud large group playing their own music and making a lot of noise, the management didn’t tell them anything. Definitely...

I love this place so much. It is a soul-destination for me, due to all I've experienced there! Perfect location in the heart of Mother Nature, you can just enjoy the sun in the hammock, or with your bare feet in the grass admiring the view of the pension. You can read a book in silence, relax at the pool or in the sauna. I've really enjoyed in one of the nights the cold weather combined with the warm water in the wooden hot tube. Amazing. The pension is very beautiful decorated, with Romanian traditional patterns, all details on point, very comfortable beds, well equipped rooms with hair dryer, towel changed once in 2-3 days and all the bathroom essentials. The owners are very nice people who offered us the best organic, vegetarian food I've ever eaten. Everything was so aesthetic and beautiful, I send all my love and admiration for these great people. Heaven....
