DUKAT - Hotel, Restaurant & Events — Hotel in Gura Humorului

We were told that the property was a year old. We experiences pros/cons.||We had a very good screen on our patio door in our room unfortunately there was constant dog barking, sirens and car noises, it was unbearable. The AC did not work so we were forced to keep the door open. This caused horrible sleep.||Breakfast opened at 07:30, it was the best Breakfast of this trip (the 1st morning had more options), perfect scrambled eggs, everything of very good quality, olives and pitted marinated cherries exceptional. Coffee excellent. Fresh Crescents, one morning there was bruschetta made perfectly, nice selection of meat/ cheeses/ fresh rolls, spinach rolls were perfect (but only one morning). Delicious kind young lady in Breakfast area. We wish that there was more consistency with the food offerings.||Open seating area, both indoor and outdoor seating.||No tissue box, no water in room, small little cups.||The mattress was firm/flat. The pillows were very thin. ||No place near sink to hang the hand towel ||The garbage can in the room was annoying, it had a lid on it and the foot pedal did not work, it would not stay open, you had to keep bending down and use your hand to open...

We stayed here one night in May 2024 in a junior suite. |The hotel is located in a quiet street in the centre of town. It has its own parking and has 31 rooms divided over 5 floors with an elevator. The junior suite is great: very spacious with a separate toilet and attached to the bedroom another shower cabin and a large bathtub. Unfortunately not a second sink. |The main bathroom is small with only one sink. The room has airconditioning, a minibar and a watercooker. There is even a second pull-down bed for 2 people. The windows can be opened and WiFi is very good. The bed is too hard (it feels like sleeping on the floor) and both showers are disappointing (low water pressure). Lighting is very good but it takes some time to find out how everything works. Despite the help from Reception we were not able to switch on the aircondition. |Dinner in the restaurant was very nice, excellent value for money and perfect service. Breakfast is simple (eg. no fruit). |All staff members were very friendly...

Very nice hotel. New, spacious, really lovely staff at reception. They were stand up and salute us every time we walked through reception, which is very professional. I really appreciated this. Netflix was not working, I did not understand completely why, but it is a problem at the entire hotel. Everyday the housekeeper come and cleaned our room and every 2 days towels were changed ( but they had a policy which I personally loved and encouraged so that you put the towels you want to be changed on the floor and the ones that you want to continue using on the heater).
