I am frequent traveler with more than 10 years of international projects deployed in multiple countries and never ever was I in this situation before, NEVER!!! For this family trip we had to quit, driving to a new location our kids in the middle of the night. Because even if the booking was for a 50sqm, 4 max. occupants, bungalow, the reception lady said it was a misunderstanding and giving that we only confirmed two adults she would have to charge us pretty much double of that or just house us in one single room - not BUNGALOW. MIND YOU, I booked a 50sqm, 4 max. occupants bungalow and she was trying to SCAM me and my family for double of that. She had all the info of my four kids as in age, sex and name, so there wasn't any unfortunate twist of events, she was trying to plain scam me. My wife already had confirmed with the property ahead of our arrival the setup but still, surprise - surprise at the check-in desk: - Just give us more money. Booking.com was plainly showing the reservation was for a 50sqm, 2 bedrooms, 4 adults max occupancy and she still was adamant to the blatant proof trying to blame it on a "system glitch" although she was admitting the info for our family party. She tried to bargain to split the difference and she was pleading at the end to let everything that happened in the last half an hour go but I didn't want to have any of it and I was already ready for a new setup. ALSO, the price range of the booking was in line with similar locations giving in was from Wednesday to Friday - NOT weekends, so the double of the value claim or the bargaining had no real support other than a scam attempt. I can believe that they might have a good location, the overall setup looked tasteful even if the access road was not that great, but I'm pretty much sure that their project it's taking a turn for the worst when you think you're so good that a bad review cannot harm you, pretty sure others will follow - but my mindset it's not on their subsequent deprecated customer relation management that will lead to their ultimate fail - but on the facts that others might have this happening to them also. I was lucky because in not even 20 minutes, I had other option ready for my family since I harvested good relations with all of my travel agents buddies back in my corporate life, from where they won a penny or two but others might be not as lucky as me, so beware. All in all, I'm opening a bottle of local wine to wash away the bitterness of this experience but man, oh man... everything has a first and that just happen to be for me in a family trip.
