Cattaleya Boutique — Hotel in Luizi-Călugăra

My wife, our baby under 1 year and me was staying there for 7 days. I was reading the ratings on booking.com, which are very positive, and because of this I was booking there.||1. service:|The check in was very friendly. My wife was asking, if we can shorten the stay in the hotel. The chief was denying it, but was giving us a discount. |The stuff of the hotel was helping us at every time, when we was needing something for our baby like bringing hot water in the evening for making tea or giving us a baby chair, when we was needing.|But in the first two days no one was cleaning or taking the trash from the room.|So we was asking the stuff. They said are not enough customers, but if you want we can say to the cleaning girl to come. From then the cleaning and taking diapers was very good.|The service was very good: 4/5.||2. room|The hotel room was looking very good on the pictures from booking.com. Also in real was looking good. But its totally not having a 4 star standard like you are thinking when you are seeing the picture. The bathroom was smelling very bad, two lamps were not working, the fridge/mini bar was dirty and the fan in bath room was not working. And also the rooms were not having an AC. During our stay in romania was having over 35 degrees, so was very hot in the room.|Good looking from pictures but in real not so wow 3/5.||3. food|The breakfast was also not having 4 star standard. In the first days we had to chose one of three menues including drinks from the card. This menues are very ,,romanian rustical‘: Are only some eggs with bread, cheese and sausages. For me was not tasting good and I had some stomach problems. But im not sure if these stomach problems are from this breakfast or something else.|So because we was not liking so much we was buying our own stuffs and we was eating there. There was only making the eggs for us and birnging us drinks. Was no problem for them. On the last day they made buffet, which was having only eggs bread, milk, cornflakes, orange juice and a bit meat.|We was eating on the first day in the restaurant in the evening. Was normal romanian standard food which was not having very good quality. You can eat it but its also not so wow.|All in all they should offer more different things and more good qualitiy food for 4 star standard: 2/5.||4. enviroment|The view from the balcony is nice. I was booking here for relaxing in the nature and go running. For running there are only two little tracks and alot of dogs which are making loud noises.|Relaxing on the balcony is difficult cause the was playing loud music form the morning until late in the evning and you are hearing the cars from the street to Brasov very loud.|But the pool area is nice. They was opening for us when we was wanting to go there. You also have something to lay down outside in the sun.||5. conclusion|Very friendly service, not so good food and rooms but a nice enviroment. For 52€ per night I recommend to pay 10€ more and going to Hotel Helen, which is giving you more...

This is probably a relevant example of now a good idea can be ruined by bad implementation. Also, it is rather expensive for what it offers.||||The good||- Nice location||- Facilities like swimming pool and spa||||The bad:||- Bad smell in the room, both coming from toilet (malfunction?) and lack of fresh air||- Spider webs in the room's bathroom, lack of cleaning||- Poor breakfast, no water or any other drinks included (at least this is what we have understood from personnel)!||- Noise (from trimming the grass?) while having breakfast made the morning quite unpleasant||- Dinner time was supposed to end at 10 PM but we could barely have dinner at 9:30 ||- Dirty toilet accessible from the lobby||- It was NOT a pleasure to interact with the personnel which had rather cold and indifferent attitude, quite unusual somebody working in...

So I went to a wedding here catered by their restaurant. I can honestly say it was the worse wedding food I ever had. The entree was old, probably plated 2 to 3 days ago as you could see the edges oxidised. Then came a sad boiled trout, lukewarm at best with a cold side of asparagus and no lemon. The classic sarmale were present, but they were both cold and undercooked if that can be possible. After I was graced with "Ceafa de porc" that could rival old leather in regards to toughness. My opinion is that all food was cooked 3 days before and warned up in a microwave. And the staff and service were horrible! If you wanted a waiter to get some whiskey good luck with finding one. Ah! And the dry red wine was served cold! Like from the fridge cold! And the toilets! Filthy!
