Millenium — Hotel in Mădăras

Stayed at the Millenium for a week for a model airplane contest in Salonta. The Good: The Grounds are nice with a pool, soccer field, volleyball court, petting zoo and all is pretty well maintained. There was a bar next to the pool that was nice and the workers at the pool bar were nice and attentive. 6 Leu ($1.75) for a 16 ounce local beer ( Ursus very good).||||Rooms: We paid 100 Leu ($30) per night for two. The room is decent size and shower was good, but there was no A.C. and no fans provided. In July it was really hot - we had to go buy a fan, which helped a little. Also, they are stingy with replacing towels - I think because they do not have a dryer (They hang up laundry to dry). ||||Restaurant: The food is generally pretty good, we liked the Goulash, The Mexican Chicken, The Pork and Dumplings and the desserts are really good. The Service, however is dreadful. Some meals we would wait an hour to get a waiter, We found that once you got a waiter it was best to order everything at once, other wise you could be waiting a long time. The staff spoke little English but a few did. Most of the staff was friendly, I think they are just short-staffed. Once again since there is no separation between the hotel and the restaurant at this location I will state in the very beginning - this review is on the restaurant (not the hotel)||Location - on the side of the road - near Madaras - only 4 km away from the historic city of Salonta. Excellent seating capacity in the courtyard terrace even with the tables distanced. This evening we were there it was almost full... we found some place - for some reason an isolated table was not on the preferences of the customers, but was ideal for us. ||Service - fast and professional, waitress very polite - even hidden behind the face mask - she was very helpful. ||Food - tasty and nicely cooked - arrived in timely manner and it was nothing to complain about, Schnitzel was good and the Gulyas was excellent. Overall nothing special but also nothing to complain. Big portions , plenty of food and tasty - what else is needed for a stop beside the road to grab a bite .. for me is enough. ||Prices - good price to quality ratio, and overall the prices are decent. And they accept credit cards (tips you need to give cash, if you want of course.)||So if you are in the area , this is another good restaurant where you can enjoy some...

The room was clean, but only superficial, sharp edges on the bathroom window. Who is not careful may get a trip to hospital. Shower had dirty walls and waste water was not flowing out. Besides that, at the and, I drinked a soda, left my sunglasses on the table for 1 minute, and after that where gone. All this in their own restaurant. When I asked the guy who served me he started arguing with me. I do not recommend this place. Indeed it has its plusses, like a nice garden, place for kids to play, animals, a small lake. But the attitude of some employees...
