Pension Lady Sophie — Hotel in Mălaia

Called at 9 o'clock in the evening and got there mostly by luck. The hosts are an absolutely delightful couple and, even if the place was mostly tourist free (kind of off-season), it was spotless. Charming people, most welcoming with civilised and well-mannered tourists. The BB also has ping-pong and a pool table, and very nice they are. The double room we picked could be considered a bit on the smaller size - but again, spotless (yes, that includes the restroom). We chose a shower cabin instead of a bathtub - but we've seen a room with one of those as well. Even if it isn't on top of a mountain but by the road, the view was very nice and there are some nice trips or bike trails to follow. Excellent food as well, carefully prepared, we ate a delightful fried trout, soup, some cold cuts and cheese, all home made. I didn't award 5 stars in value because I reserve that for discounts and such - but it was definitely worth the very good price. 4 stars in Sleep Quality, location and rooms - again, there has to be something for the Ritz :). One place where I want to get back to mainly because of the owners. Lovely people, looking forward to offering a pleasurable stay and a good talk. Pensiunea Domniței Sophie este una dintre puținele locații de cazare din zonă care dispune de un restaurant acreditat, astfel că servirea celor trei mese pe zi aici nu constituie o îngrijorare, ba chiar este un deliciu, Domnița Sophie fiind un excelent bucătar. Am avut ocazia să petrec 3 zile la această pensiune și pot spune cu mâna pe inimă că proprietarii sunt oameni gospodari, sociabili, foarte buni cunoscători ai zonei care se implică constant și continuu în promovarea Văii Lotrului. Pensiunea dispune de 14 camere cu paturi matrimoniale sau twin și de un apartament, capacitatea de cazare fiind de 32 de persoane. Camerele sunt aerisite și bine luminate, curate, foarte bine compartimentate și aranjate. Bunul gust și îmbinarea culorilor îți conferă liniște și relaxare. Pentru proprietari, relaxarea oaspeților este pusă în prim plan astfel că, în spatele pensiunii există un teren de tenis de picior, piscină pentru adulți și copii și o construcție acoperită cu un loc de joacă pentru copii și o masă pentru tenis de masă.
