Gorgova Inn — Hotel in Maliuc

The location is right in the centre of the reservation, in the quiet and beautiful village of Gorgova. It is easily accessible by boat from Tulcea. We arrived rather late, so there was no regular boat service but Mircea helped us and arranged for us to be picked up in Tulcea Aval port for a very reasonable price.||The food is home-made, traditional and based on local fresh fish (lipoveneasca). Delicious is an understatement, especially for the fish soup (if you like you food with a little spicy tang). You don't get many options but that's a good thing since you get real the experience of the local food.||For the boat trips the prices are very reasonable and you get excellent value for your money. Mircea really knows his way around the channels and lakes and is great at finding the places where you can see and photograph wild life.||There's a road to the location as well (and google maps will find a route), but is in very bad shape (unless you have an off-road car it's tricky). nice and quiet hotel. the is little gsm signal, the are no tv's in the rooms, but the nature is wild and wonderful. the food made here is very good and cheap. the pool was nice after a day in the sun. half day boat trip in the Delta wilderness was worthy. It was 100 lei/ person from 1PM to 7 PM. They don't speak well forein languages but you can manage to understand each other. The road is terrible and you must ger there by boat from Tulcea, for about 60 lei/person, it is an hour trip. It is better to bring with you drinks or favourite snacks because there are only shops reacheable by boat, and those are far away. Be aware at the musquitos, you better have repealant or stay inside...

The location is perfect if you're into fishing. You can reach the Sulina canal in a matter of minutes walking and have a great fishing session. You can rent a motor-boat from the owner and go further on lakes for some spinning to catch pike and other predator fish. Other then that, the owners are really nice people and they will be at your disposal at any time. The food, mainly based on fish, is also great.
