BE CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING THIS ACCOMODATION! If you are not Romanian, please look for another place to stay in this area. We had a VERY unpleasant experience due to multiple reasons. The road to get there is very bad. It is approximately a 10 km drive off the main road on rocks and sand. After arriving in the small village, which looks deserted and very poor, you get stares from literally everyone and really feel like an outsider. The owner does not speak a word of English or German or any other language than Romanian which makes communication very difficult The rooms are connected to the house of the owner so at any time they can enter your room The rooms really smell bad even though they look clean The terrace leaks when it rains and you are not allowed to sit downstairs in the garden or under the roof, only on the terrace in front of your room on which it leaks. When it rains, you do not have any other place to sit on apart from your bed In the details the accommodation states to offer dinner with extra payment. This is NOT true. The owner does not provide any meals and the closest restaurant is 15 km away, again over the rocky road. This is a big scam. There is no service in the village, which would not be a problem if there was Wi-Fi or even electricity! But the property did not even have electricty let alone Wi-Fi. As two girls we felt very unsafe so we fled in the pouring rain as it felt dangerous because we could not contact anyone if there was an emergency. Luckily we found another last minute accommodation in the nearest city.
The owner was aware of all this, but did not seem interested and did not care about all these problems. We contacted booking.com to sort this out. The owner of the accommodation refuses to give us a refund, even though we literally fled this terrible place after 2 hours. It looks like a very cute and nice place in a quite village. But all the reviews seem to be from locals who know the owner. Please do not book this...
Read moreWe had a delightful one night stay in Nemșa being looked after by Liana. After a very long and hot day walking the Via Transylvanica we were glad to arrive. Liana is a wonderful host. Cold water on arrival to quench our thirst. A very tasty dinner, and breakfast the next day. There are lots of comfortable chairs on their balcony to sit and relax. Nemșa is a small village and Liana's place is the oasis...
