STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE Beautiful view. But that's about it. For the rest this has been the most terrible gastronomic experience i've ever had in my life: We arrive and there is nobody to welcome you at the entrance of the building, we had to call the owner of the place to have him send this waiter who had the enthusiasm of a corpse and didn't speak anything but a romanian dialect even my friend from Brasov had difficulties to understand. We get served by this woman lacking every sort of professionality: whatever i would ask about the menù was answered in a mono or bisillabic, careless word. She also forgot to mention important parts, like that the mixed summer salad i took, was actually only tomatoes and some cucumber. Undressed. Then we also took fries, which were soaking in oil. The bread was basically gum. Even wanting to complain or send back the plates was not possible because the waiter would run away the second she layed the plates on the table to then even hiding in the kitchen for a good 15 minutes at time. Even the wine of the house was terrible, it smelled of cork even if they claim it was from the barrel. At the end of this aberrating experience we get presented a bill of 156 Lei; by comparison, we ate much better in Brasov "Poiana", which is a very neat building complex on the mountains where they make traditional food, for 120 Lei. When we go confront the owner who was watching the TV in the main room of the restaurant we get shouted on as we were inventing whatever happened. Never again and i warn you, stay away from this place. I'd rather starve to death than set foot in this that...
Read moreThe short stay at Hanul Dorului was disappointing from start to end..The location and the view is very nice but the level of service and the hospitality was very poor.|1. We booked a room for a night, paid in advance 50% and when we checked in we were asked to pay the difference immediately and not at the end of the stay. |2. The welcoming was very cold: "hi...you have to pay the difference now"...|3. Rooms - average...not very clean..but with a very nice view. |3. The price is above average and they advertise it with breakfast included; well...surprise, the breakfast consists in a lot of bread and a choice between 2 omelettes; the coffee is not included in the breakfast!! Nor anything else...; at least the waiter was very nice and charismatic. |4. When asking about "papanasi" they said that they do not have them...||I would not recommend a stay in this location; if you really have to stop in the area try "Garden resort(300m away from Hanul Dorului); don't expect to receive your food very fast there..but he atmosphere is much warmer and they practice...
