As participants to the Ecomarathon 2015 in Moieciu de Sus, an established trail running competition in Romania, we have spent the previous weekend at Pensiunea la Turcu, where we have met 2 lovely people from Bucharest, who fell in love with the amazing scenery and decided to move to these parts. Building a house a little bit too big for themselves, they decided to turn it into a pension. Hard work and a lot of resources went into this project but it paid off, since their good taste and attention for quality transcends the premises. Blending in was difficult so far from home but their respect for honesty and true values and nature makes their character distinctive. The beautiful house, the cozy, bright rooms, the warmth of the wood, the tasteful design, the large space, the attention for details are signature of the passion invested in this house and of the respect for the traveler.||Location. The only way to reach Moieciu de Sus from afar is by car. Hence, you will not be disturbed by the fact that the pension is located about 2,5 km from the center of the village; in fact, you will find the scenery in its vicinity even more amazing, since it relates to the proximity to the forest and the national park, and it gives you the feeling of authentic and serene isolation, hypnotized by the majestic nature revealing in front of you. You can easily drive to the center of the village and park your car on the side of the road; this is what we did, in a very busy weekend. So distance is really not an issue. Just highlighting that for families with small children or elderly people, it is difficult to walk to the center.||The House. A reasonably large pension, with about 10-12 rooms. There are double rooms but also apartments for 4 people. Each room is en-suite. We were amazed by the size of the rooms ! Impressed by the minimalist but tasteful design, loved the accent put on the wood, even in the bathrooms, conferring warmth to the premises. I believe each room has a fairly large balcony. Very high sleep quality - the bed is perfect. Lost of clothes storage spaces in the room.||Downstairs, there is a common living room, also very large, with hard wooden tables and chairs. They do not offer any meal services but you will have full access to a fully equipped kitchen (dishes, cutlery, tea pots, glasses etc) and a large fridge to store your food or beverages in. ||The courtyard. Extremely generous plot of land, which accommodates a large parking lot (inside the pension premises, behind a locked door - very safe), a playground for small children, a swing chair, a barbecue spot, an outdoor covered terrace for hot summer days. I found the creek behind the house the most charming nature element that gives the house personality and life. You will have an easy access to the creek, and the surprise is that, by going down a few steps into the river bed, you will find a spot especially designed for cooling beer bottles or...watermelons in the summer :) Quite ingenious and practical !||The owners are the heart of the place and you will sense their dedication as well as the respect for the amazing scenery that surrounds them and attracts the traveler seeking that familiar isolation from the hectic civilization. ||Slow traveling in Moieciu de Sus. Take your time and linger over the green pastures and majestic hills, at the foot of...
Read moreWent to "Pensiunea La Turcu" with a group of friends to spend New Year's Eve. We rented the whole property for quite a high price but from the first moment we were welcomed by a non-friendly guest who obviously did not accept that young people need to have a good time within the normal decency limits of course. We were absolutely denied to play music although initially the host has confirmed we are allowed to bring our own equipment and we were made to clean our dishes and even our rooms!! The woman who owns the place had a terrible attitude and managed to ruin our vacation. Paid over 5000 euros to rent the whole property and basically we were not allowed to do anything of what we wanted. We were not even able to pick our own rooms, as the owner made us stay in the rooms she wanted, at her convenience, although all rooms were paid for.||The view is beautiful and the property looks quite good and clean but none of this really mattered .||Absolutely RUDE and NON-FRIENDLY host. Read moreFlori and Lucian were amazing and very accommodating. We were a group of 7 people and they went beyond our expectations to make sure that all our needs were met and to make us feel like home. We used the kitchen and the backyard like our own, we were provided with wood for a nice fire outside and Flori made us delicious breakfast each morning. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend “la Turcu”!! Multumim mult Flori si Lucian pentru tot! Va dorim sanatate...
