Green Garden Resort — Hotel in Odobești

The "good" rating is not available, but it is exactly 3.5 stars I needed for the place. We went here in the summer, especially for going to the pool on a hot day. The place was crowded, but we could still find some chairs and we had enough space to splash around.The big pool is 1.2 to 1.7 m deep and there are 2 more bassinets and a little kids' pool. The drinks are cheap (under 1 EUR for a bottled beer) and the food (we had pizza) is decent (also cheap). The weak point is the service - done with untrained and bored personnel. The resort has an open terrace, a covered one, an indoor bar, a football court (covered), a wine cellar and several ballrooms for different events (like parties and weddings). As for the hotel, the rooms are very clean and spacious (as I was told by some locals).||The town is not on the main touristic routes in Romania, but if you are in the area, it is definitely worth a visit, especially if combined with a visit to the pool...

The resort is on the outskirts of a nondescript village. The surroundings aren't particularly attractive. The room was okay despite the tap not working. The pool serves as a community pool, so expect dozens of screaming children in and around the pool. Accompanied by two huge speakers producing deafening club music uninterrupted for hours and hours. Staff was utterly indifferent and was reluctant at best to do any effort, let alone take orders. The food wasn't bad, but over half of the menu wasn't available. It is in the middle of the wine country, but wines are only available by the bottle, and no help whatsoever was offered selecting one. Maybe the fleas were only there temporarily, but they certainly added to the overall sense of unease that i underwent. Without being offered breakfast, I left the resort angrily just after 8. We needed to visit the area as we have inherited a vineyard not far. If you ever need to travel through Romania and need to stop over, this place is amazing! |Fantastic suite poolside was £25 per night. The weather was great so we were able to take advantage of the wonderfully maintained large outdoor pool. Food is very cheap and is acceptable. Pizza from wood fired oven less than £2 and main courses the same price or no more than £3. Rooms are not cleaned daily but fresh towels are provided if requested. We ended up staying a week and found it really relaxing. Winery up the road sells really good wine for about £1.50 per bottle. Check out the website for more information.
