The location of this Han is absolutely beautiful, but the beauty is taken away by what you find inside: we went there not in season, March. The owner I thing a lady half Hungarian half Romanian offered to give us food without a menu she had it in her head...no wonder they did not have that much...in the meantime while we were with baby people started smoking the owner said ok they will not smoke anymore but guess what she could not care less the other guests we're not told to stop smoking....after leaving the building we waited for the other guests to leave so we can have lunch...well a cold one as we waited. The food was the worse ever the soup had just some precut vegetables in it and was brought in a big ball not portions of course, because only the lady owner knew how much you ate of as there was no menu no price...what a bad business women, she makes nor the Romanians or the Hungarians proud....anyway after this lunch which included another course - we were hungry, we understood we need to leave asap...and guess what the lady comes and says the bill is this much without a VAT so if you want your receipt it will be this much....what a con person!!!! Shame on her - I am sorry she has the ability to do whatever with this Han . The location is beautiful but characters like this make Romania a difficult...
Read moreI enjoyed many times this place. It's hard to make you understand why is special. First of all is the inn: it's new, traditional and comfortable, original, historical, warmly designed. Second: the food - as my friend says: it's exactly the way my grandmother used to cook. Really - excellent food. And third but not last: the landscape - in any season or weather, if it's cold or hot or snowing or raining, it's fresh green or white or all colors are mixed just for you. The air it’s strong and smells like cold water or flowers or berries or mushroom, or pine, or grass or just smell great. Unfortunately for the inn isn’t placed in a touristic area but this it makes it better – you can RELAX. Last time, for Christmas, we were as a family group for 8 nights. Was the only place with snow we’ve seen at that time. The employees are very kind and helpful. They speak Romanian, Hungarian and English (I don’t know other languages so maybe more). The prices are excellent versus the quality of all services. Don’t just pass...
Read moreWe stopped here for a quick lunch break while on the road and what a great lunch it was! The location is very good, right on the side of the road just off the Oituz mountain pass, with ample free parking available. The restaurant has a fantastic terrace as well, overlooking a large yard where kids can run around and play. Inside there aren’t too many tables which makes it feel more homey. The service was very good, even though there was a single person taking care of multiple tables. They were happy to help, with a big smile and very polite. The food was fantastic, couldn’t have asked for better. I had a Ragout soup and a portion of plum dumplings, excellent! Prices are accessible, very good value for money! I highly recommend stopping here if you...
