Casa Maria — Hotel in Pitești

We stayed only one night here because we needed a place to stay before we started our road trip. I did my research upon arriving and took a chance since it had great reviews. We arrived at this hotel around 10pm... Tired and lost. Our lovely host gave us directions to get there quick. As soon as we arrived, we felt an immediate welcoming. Very friendly and accommodating. He told us to park in the back in their private lot. He told us he was waiting for our arrival and to come down to eat! We were happy to hear about that! We came down and immediately felt like we have arrived in Romania. He fed us his specials of the night, along with a "special dessert" he made especially for us. We were very thankful. This small hotel on the outskirts of Pitesti was chosen as a one night stop whilst travelling across Romania. It proved to be a really good find. The family that ran it along with the bar and restaurant could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Lots of parking at the back of the hotel so easy to unload. The room was large and beautifully furnished with good seating and facilities. Strong Wifi signal and air-conditioning.||||The bar and restaurant set round a courtyard and garden is obviously very popular not only with guests from the hotel but also people living in Pitesti. It had a good varied menu and the food when it arrived was delicious. Breakfast the following morning was again freshly prepared and more than adequate. A large spotlessly clean room, a well stocked snack bar, [though not cheap] and a very reasonable restaurant attached to the rear of the hotel where locals as well as hotel guests appeared to be enjoying a meal.||I was travelling by motorbike and although there was no secure parking, parking around the back was pretty much out of sight and I had no concerns.||Owners were friendly, though quite inconspicuous for much of the time, so either very discrete or a little detached I guess.
