Hotel Popasul Romanilor — Hotel in Românași

This hotel, as a 4 star hotel, is a joke. From the outside, the hotel looks very nice, and when you go inside it looks nice, even though you are not sure what way is the reception area... The rooms are pretty big, and when the receptionist showed us our room, the room was let’s say ok, far better than other places, but my husband was not very impressed, he immediately checked the bathroom, the bed, other small details that make the difference between a 4 star or a “less” star hotels, and he did not like it...Because I am a smoker, of course I checked the balcony, it was a nice balcony so for me the room was ok at a first sight. They only have a bathtub, without shower curtains, and that’s ok, not everybody prefers a cabin shower... The receptionist told us not to worry if we will spill water all over the place while taking a shower...But when you come to check other details, you realize that it is not the place where you want to stay.... After the receptionist showed us our room where we were supposed to stay, paid at the front desk, installed in our room, my husband said he prefers to drive a little more to find a better hotel, because he doesn’t like it... The bed, the mattress, was very uncomfortable, the room pretty much empty (that didn’t bother me, true, I found rather stupid to have a maybe 20 square meters room empty), even though it was very big, but besides the bed, a desk where the TV was standing on, and a closet for the clothes, nothing else in the room... The TV is on a desk, and if you want to watch TV, you have about four channels to choose from, my husband checked them all!! The night lamp cabinets, and the desk, were in a very poor condition, a lot of scratches on the little furniture it was in, and that is of course because of other guests who stayed in here... Obviously, some people must let their “marks” where they stay... 😔The staff was polite and friendly, and they understood that we don’t want to spend our night there, so they gave us our money back, after not even 10 minutes in our room and realizing that this is for sure not a room where we want to spend our night...We chose the hotel because it was a 4 star hotel, the location , being outside of the city, in the mountains (even though the noise from the outside traffic, we found it a little disturbing in our 10-20 minutes stay), and because in our travels, we passed this hotel several times, and it looked very nice from the outside...So, if you only care to sleep in here, it us a good choice hotel, but if you want to relax a little, not a good choice!Definitely not a good choice for couples or families...

Camerele sunt chiar ok, însă în momentul în care personalul hotelului tratează clienții cu nepăsare, iar serviciile lasă de dorit, e clar ca avem o problema. Am ajuns la Popasul Romanilor în toiul nopții, cu un ditamai bagajul, iar doamna de la recepție ne-a spus nonșalant ca nu merge liftul. Camera era la doi, asa ca a trebuit sa tragem, efectiv, bagajul pe scări, fără ca nimeni sa ne ofere ajutor. Deși am întrebat.

În camera, lângă fereastra, am găsit "ciorchine" de buburuze și alte vietăți venite după căldură. Bineînțeles, ca le-am transmis fetelor de la recepție a doua zi situația și le-am rugat frumos sa treacă cineva pe la noi sa aspire. Mi s-a raspuns "Sa vedem ce putem face". Poftim??! Pai îți spun eu ce poți face, rogi camerista sa vina un aspirator sa curete, nu e mare deranj. Seara când am revenit în camera, ganganiile erau tot acolo. Ba chiar mai multe, plus alte soiuri dubioase de gândaci. Erau clar venite din exterior, dar oricât de Planet Lover as fi, chiar nu îmi doresc sa dorm cu gândaci în camera. În fine, astea sunt doar câteva situații... Noi am fost un grup mai mare cazat aici pentru un business trip, dar au fost colege de-ale mele care au stat câte doua in camera și le-a fost repartizata o camera de o singura persoana. În timp ce altei colege, care stătea singura, i-au dat o camera de doua persoane. Because f**k logic! Nu mai zic de faptul ca în camera nu exista niciun semn care sa te atenționeze ca dacă ieși pe ușa de la "falsul" balcon, s-ar putea sa cazi în gol. Ușa respectiva este, de fapt, o fereastra care arata ca, ce sa vezi, o ușă normala. Când am ajuns în camera simțeam nevoia de puțin aer proaspăt asa ca m-am dus "la balcon", am deschis și am vrut sa ies puțin afara. Afara fiind întuneric bezna, nu se vedea nimic și.. efectiv era sa cad în gol de la etajul doi. 😐 Am editat acest review de vreo doua ori pentru ca îmi tot amintesc situații, iar toate duc spre aceeași concluzie. . Deci după cum spuneam, pentru Zalău e cât de cat ok hotelul, mare păcat de client...

Special recommendation is chicken roll and...
